I Became the Villain's Pendant - Chapter 62
Ji Yan didn’t play for long before being summoned by Ji Yunqing.
Lately, Ji Yunqing was stressed. He had casually asked his followers about Ji Yan’s movements and found out that she took the initiative to help repair the city wall. This unexpected development startled him.
The Ji Yan in his memory was spoiled and never helped others. However, since she was useless anyway, Ji Yunqing had decided to allow her reckless behavior.
When Ji Yan was summoned, she adjusted her expression and put on a look that was both pitiful and full of anticipation.
“Yan Er,” Ji Yunqing stepped forward and lowered his head, inquiring gently, “I heard that you have been helping with the city wall repairs these past few days?”
He was suddenly acting so concerned about her. As he approached, Ji Yan smelled a cool scent–Ji Yunqing’s exclusive icy fragrance.
If she were ‘Ji Yan’, she would be bewitched by his tender appearance, but it’s a pity that the current Ji Yan’s favorability towards these kinds of men was even less than half of Yin Xuezhuo’s.
“I just want to help out as much as possible.” Ji Yan feigned shyness. Biting her lower lip, she raised her eyes and stared at Ji Yunqing. “Was there something brother needed from me, seeing that you called me here? As long as I am capable of it, I will try my best.”
She had undisguised eagerness in her eyes.
Ji Yunqing’s gaze became gentler and raised his hand to pat her head like he did when they were kids. “Linshuang City is currently in danger. Originally, I wanted you to rest for a few more days but the lives of the people are more important. Yan Er, are you willing to follow me to the spiritual vein and take a look?”
Ji Yan nodded obediently.
“Brother.” She suddenly took a step forward and grabbed Ji Yunqing’s sleeve. She eagerly said:, “I…I have thought a lot these days. I think Sister Yin is worthy of my brother. I…”
Ji Yunqing slightly knitted his eyebrows, but his tone still remained gentle and soothing. “You can speak your thoughts.”
“I want to reconcile with Sister Yin and apologize to her.” Ji Yan bit her lip and looked at Ji Yunqing. “Granted that she is my sister-in-law, we would be staying under the same roof from now on. I want her to forgive me.”
Ji Yan grieved over her own words.
She was such a fake bitch. Yin Miaorou tried to kill her and she actually said that she wanted to reconcile.
Ji Yan only said those words because she wanted that mirror.
The psychic mirror.
When she secretly took a glimpse, it felt like a video call and was something she had never seen before. It was the first time Ji Yan was so curious about the high-tech of the fantasy world and she just wanted to play with it.
As for apologizing to Yin Miaorou, it was just a mere formality. If she had been serious, Yin Xuezhuo would’ve strangled her to death.
Ji Yan unexpectedly took the initiative to yield. Ji Yunqing didn’t expect it to happen and was doubtful. He narrowed his eyes.
He felt something was off but could not pinpoint what.
Ji Yan saw his silence and knew he was suspicious of her.
Nevertheless, she understood that he would not refuse.
Ji Yunqing was overall quite acceptable as a person, just that he was very conceited.
He always felt that everything was under his control. Apart from Yin Miaorou, he was never compassionate towards others. Even Yin Xuezhuo couldn’t shake him, let alone Ji Yan. In his eyes, she only had some exploitation value. Although her behavior was slightly abnormal, Ji Yunqing didn’t think much of it.
After all, all he wanted was to make use of her before throwing her away. Why would he be afraid of her?
Ji Yunqing pondered for a second before taking out the psychic mirror from his sleeve and handing it to Ji Yan. “Take this. You can communicate between any two psychic mirrors as long as you cast a spell. When you go to the spiritual vein later, this item will also come in handy. I’ll add a mantra on it for you to contact me and when the matter is over, you will go find Rou Er.”
