Little Terrified Bun - Chapter 24
Wei Jing was short of breath as he thought to himself that his big brother really crossed the line; what more can he say in response to that! He lowered his head and looked at his own soft small hands. He would never, ever hurt his big brother in this lifetime, or else…or else he will leave it to his brother and he can torture him all he want.
“Okay, it’s already late.” Wei Zhe leaned down and left a light kiss on the child’s white and soft cheek. “Have a nice dream.”
Wei Jing: …
Oh mommy! Big brother was crossing the line again!
The teenager took the sketchbook with him casually and left, leaving the stunned child to rub his own cheek and immerse himself in deep contemplation. It wasn’t his misconception! The truth was that his big brother…really became more sticky ahhh!!!
Not knowing what he suddenly thought of, Wei Jing’s cheek gradually turned red once again. This sticky big brother appeared to be, strangely…cute, ah!
He will have to always take his phone with him in the future so that he could take some pictures of his big brother occasionally. When big brother grows up, he can keep those pictures and use them to mock him hahahaha!!!
Suddenly, he heard another knock on the door. Wei Jing patted his face to adjust his expression to look more serious. While he opened the door he asked, “What happened? Did you forget to…” Take something?
He swallowed the last half of the sentence down his throat. Wei Jing looked at the boy of similar height to him who was behind the door and furrowed his eyebrows unnoticeably. Subconsciously holding the door knob tighter, he asked in a cold tone that was totally opposite from before, “Do you need anything?”
“I’m a bit scared.” Wei Min was born with a nice looking appearance. His pitiful gaze toward the boy before him compelled others to protect and care for him. “I wish to sleep with my second brother tonight.”
“My sleeping posture isn’t good.” Wei Jing rejected him indirectly. “I will squish you at night. How about you sleep with all the lights in your room on.”
“That wouldn’t work, I’m still scared.” Wei Min’s tears poured down his face. “I’m really scared! I had a dream and I dreamed that mom is no longer with us, and that dad also didn’t want me. Everyone hated me and I became a homeless orphan…Second brother, I will listen well, sleeping on the sofa will do.”
The Wei Min before him seemed to coincide with his past self unexpectedly.
Wei Jing looked at Wei Min startled. No matter how good he was being treated later on, or indulged by big brother, he was bullied by his kindergarten friends when he was young because everyone had a dad except him. Afterward, he had a dad and mom, but his mother got into a car accident and went into a deep sleep underground.
His father’s attitude also changed drastically. Consequently…not only did he not have a dad, he also didn’t have a mom.
Inside this luxurious, yet cold Wei family residence, Wei Jing secretly wept inside his blanket every day and night. The young child cried as soft as a young cub, afraid that if his sounds were any louder, it would attract predators and eventually he would get kicked out of his last possible shelter.
Those sensitive and fragile times were buried deeply inside him.
That’s why he feared. He wondered when his useless self would be abandoned by big brother? If he worked harder and became as outstanding as big brother, would he gain more of his attention?
Love begat worries, and love begat fear.
This sentiment was the strongest after the introduction of the woman who appeared to be big brother’s fiance, which caused him to be hot headed and act impulsively.
“Come on in!” Wei Jing angled his body to make space for Wei Min to enter. His face was pale yet determined. “But this is only for today. You have to strive to be a strong gentleman yourself. Understand?”
Rather than saying those words were for the Wei Min in front of him, it would be more appropriate to say that those words were for his distant… past self.
