Little Terrified Bun - Chapter 49
Wei Zhe’s expression was furious and his words unreserved. “Where are you guys holding Wei Jing? Want to try to lie? The police department already sent people to investigate your so-called cousin. Very soon, the truth will reveal itself.”
“I…I don’t know.” Wei Jing bit down on his lower lip and stuttered.
The unrevealed manipulator behind the plan was his uncle, biological uncle! And he did it for the sake of saving Wei Min’s mother, so even if Wei Min was scared, he wouldn’t, and couldn’t, say anything.
“Little thing, you better be honest.” Wei Zhe suddenly exploded with anger and grabbed Wei Min with one of his hands. The veins on the teenager’s forehead popped out and his handsome face became hideous, as if he was a desperate and lonely wolf who had been forced to a dead end who could only bite off the opponent’s neck mercilessly to save himself.
It happened again.
Wei Zhe blinked. A deep sense of helplessness suddenly surged inside his body as if his bones and marrow were being taken away by someone else. He…lost his family once again, lost his younger brother.
Pain. Every cell of his body and every strand of his hair all called out – “So painful!” So painful that his rationality was on the verge of breaking down, so painful that he wanted to kill someone.
“Big…big brother…” Wei Min stiffened and watched the decadent teenager who just used force loosen his hand. Under the blinding light, inside his pair of dark colored eyes, surging anger was circled by tears, appearing miserable and confused.
Was he…crying?
Wei Min thought that was ridiculous – his lukewarm, wise, cruel, and prestigious big brother would cry!
“Not planning to tell, huh?” Wei Zhe suddenly let out a cold and grim laugh. The teenager had a much greater strength than the child; in less than a second, he had already taken hold of Wei Min and pressed him down. With a loud shatter, the lamp by the bed broke into pieces, and under the child’s horrified gaze, a sharp fragment was brought to his white and soft neck.
“If I killed you, do you think father would be on your side, or mine?” Wei Zhe slowly narrowed his eyes. “Now, are you going to spill or not?”
“I…I, I don’t know.” Wei Zhe was so terrified that his body couldn’t stop shivering, and a cupful of pitiful tears swam in his eyes.
“Pft.” Wei Zhe got up and threw away the glass fragment in his hand. “It’s worth you sacrificing your life to protect that person? Do I still need to guess? Lu family. Ze ze ze, they have quite the guts. By extending their long hands into other people’s business, their hands would have to be cut off.”
Upon hearing that, Wei Min suddenly fell into a great panic. “Don’t blame uncle, he did all of these for me, he did those things to save my mom.”
Wei Zhe watched the child unwaveringly, with both pity and cruelty. After a few seconds, he replied, “How pitiful. You were merely a puppet!”
Wei Min’s mother had challenged Wei He’s authority with what she had done back then. The Lu family knew that Wei He would not set her free, for the sake of his reputation. Then…why did they kidnap Wei Jing for?
Money! No!
Although nothing of the Lu family could compare to that of Wei’s, they would not go this far just for some money.
While rubbing his chin, Wei Zhe fell into contemplation.
The Lu family shouldn’t dare to aggravate the Wei’s family even if Wei He made his sister go into prison. Their only option was to submit to the Wei family’s power. But now they did, completely challenging the Wei family’s authority. If Wei He had agreed to intervene into the matter, with his power, Wei Jing would probably already be rescued by now.
And…what good did it do for them to kidnap Wei Jing?
Nothing. In contrast, it would offend the Wei family. Unless…if that person made them do it, then everything would make sense.
Wei Zhe narrowed his eyes and took out his phone to dial a number. “Hey! Father.”
“En, what’s the matter?” On the other side of the phone, Wei He sat on the soft leather sofa leisurely. His face was flushed with faint redness. He appeared to be slightly drunk.
Wei Zhe went straight into the topic. “The Lu family kidnapped Wei Jing, and you’re the one who told them to do it.” He said it in an affirmative tone.
“How could you say that?” The Wei He who was being exposed merely laughed it off indifferently. “I only hinted to them implicitly about my dislike for that child, and revealed my intention of sending him elsewhere, which you didn’t agree to, and as your father, that made me feel pretty reluctant. Then the Lu family took it upon themselves. What does that have to do with me?”
“Where did you plan to send him?” Wei Zhe furrowed his brows, and a bad feeling arose inside of him.
“Since he wasn’t willing to return to his own ‘home’, then I’ll find him another family.”
“Where is he now?”
“How would I know? I…did not do anything at all, I’m merely an innocent and guiltless citizen!”
F***! Wei Zhe sneered. Perhaps when he went to pick up Wei Jing personally last time, it had already attracted Wei He’s attention. Wei He already abhorred the child whose mother had brought him shame by cheating on him, and now there was an easy way to get rid of Wei Jing without having to go through any trouble himself…
The phone rang.
“We found Lu Tianyou. He is currently driving towards the East suburb.” The police continued speaking rapidly, “Please rest assured, we will bring your brother back safely.”
“Where are you guys now? I also want to come along.” Wei Zhe still couldn’t bear to leave his brother’s safety in other people’s hands.
