Little Terrified Bun - Chapter 52
“It’s alright.” Wei Jing shook his head and said, “Even if you didn’t get exposed, we would still have to get out of the tree when the rain hit.”
“How would that be the same. If it wasn’t for me…if it wasn’t for me…” Bitter tears fell down his cheek and into his mouth. If it wasn’t for him, they could have escaped without being noticed. How would Wei Jing have ended up suffering so much?
“But the end result would be the same.” Wei Jing comforted him.
“You… you’re not angry at me?” Xu Jiahui asked cautiously.
“I’m not angry.” In the dark, Wei Jing spread the corner of his lips, with happiness and joy radiating from his eyes. “I’m glad to help you.” Helping others, and receiving their gratitude, was a novel experience for Wei Jing, it made him feel that he…no longer useless.
In his last lifetime, his father didn’t like him, the family members from his mother’s side didn’t like him, and even his big brother didn’t like him in the beginning.
It wasn’t until later on, when he tried to please his big brother with much effort, did he get a glimpse from him, then they gradually had more interactions with each other and their emotional ties strengthened…even then, he was still anxious everyday, afraid that sometime in the future, he will be abandoned by his big brother when he became worthless.
And now…he had helped someone else and proved his worth.
With the corner of his lips curled upwards, satisfaction filled his entire body inside out, as if the pain of his fever had faded away.
Sha sha sha~~
Rushing footsteps from not far away entere the children’s eardrums. The sky had now lightened up, as Wei Jing and Xu Jiahui both turned back simultaneously, their faces filled with unconcealable terror. The incoming figure was a teenager, fifteen or sixteen-ish, wearing a dark blue jacket, his baby face making him appear extremely innocent.
Wei Jing’s brain already became muddled by his fever. He stilled for a moment, then started to speak with some joy, “Did you come to save us? How great.”
Xu Jiahui still remembered this disagreeable teenager. He looked around and blinked his eyes, then his face suddenly turned pale. He immediately grabbed Wei Jing and started to run. “Hurry, he’s on the side as the kidnappers.”
“Huh?” Wei Jing was confused for a second, then finally reacted; even if people are looking for them, they shouldn’t tell a teenager to come, and it shouldn’t be only him alone.
If that was the case…then everything seemed to make sense.
It was just…why did Wei Min want to hurt him? He didn’t do anything that hurt him! Last lifetime, they still had a decent relationship where they could casually chat with each other, but how come now…is this the butterfly effect?
Because he was reborn, everything changed.
Big brother had changed, so did Wei Min.
Now was not the time to think about this. How could two children, whose strengths were exhausted, compete with Lu Tianyou? Wei Jing gritted his teeth, just as he planned to fight the teenager using his last effort, the person beside him made a faster move.
He saw Xu Jiahui charge forward to Lu Tianyou like a little cannon, and used the momentum to his advantage to knock down the opponent. He then used his arms to lock Lu Tianyou’s neck. After the set of actions, it actually prevented the teenager from resisting temporarily.
“I…I will be a police officer in the future, how can I lose to ruffians like you guys.”
At that moment, Xu Jiahui’s clothes were messy, his head of sweaty yellow hair was sticking to his forehead, his face was covered with dust, and the veins on his arms were popping out. Although his eyes revealed fear, they also revealed indomitable spirit.
Wei Jing stiffened. He was really stunned.
When the sky turned dark, Wei Jing saved Xu Jiahui, and when the sky brightened up, Xu Jiahui saved Wei Jing.
Everything seemed to be preordained.
“We found the children, they are here. Come quickly.”
