My Groom Ran Away - Chapter 1.1

May, LanQiao City.

The floating clouds hung low in the sky and the weather was hot and muggy. A typhoon had just passed and the air was damp as it accompanied the breeze as it blew into the room from the window.

A clock ticked and it slowly pointed to eight o’clock exactly.

At that moment, a light knock sounded from outside the room. After receiving Ruan ZhiYin’s response, Kang Yu walked into the hotel’s presidential suite room wearing a professional suit. 

She had taken a job at Merbeil, the wedding company with the best reputation in the city, that specialized in serving high-end customers. Of course, the services provided were extremely meticulous and considerate. They were well worth the millions they required in fees.

The presidential suite on the top floor of the SIMO hotel was filled with a clean and simple elegance. It however did not lose the feeling of extravagance which was hidden in the details. For example, the cups placed on the side tables were custom made by Queen-W.

After entering the room, Kang Yu saw the bride Ruan ZhiYin silently standing by the window.

She put on an appropriate smile and considerately asked: “Miss Ruan, it is still early. How about you take a rest first?”

Hearing the sound, the other person turned her head. She had bright phoenix eyes that were clear and moving and filled with a soft watery light. With chestnut hair and red lips, she had a goose egg sized face with delicate features and a swan-like neck and shoulder. Her skin was as white as jade and could be mistaken for frost and could compete with snow.

She was wearing a loose bathrobe and her beauty and tenderness was able to make Kang Yu, who was also a woman, to be so surprised that she was not able to move her eyes away.

The beauty’s gaze was fixed on the wall clock that was constantly ticking. She lightly smiled and then softly asked: “Is it still early?”

Her voice was very low. It seemed as though she was asking Kang Yu, but she also seemed to be talking to herself. Kang Yu could not tell which it was.

After all, it was only just past 8 o’clock. According to the wedding itinerary, there was still two hours before President Qin was supposed to come.

As the wedding planner, Kang Yu naturally understood some details about the bride and the groom.

The Qin family was one of the very few prominent gentry, and the groom Qin Jue was the Qin Company’s current heir.

The renowned President Qin was worthy of his name as an arrogant son of heaven. He was born with a golden spoon in his mouth and had gone to the most prestigious schools growing up. The company he had started when he was studying abroad also successfully went public and after inheriting his family business, he facilitated the industry’s largest medical merger and acquisition case.

However, the most talked about matter about this highly eligible bachelor was actually a scandal.

There were many gossip accounts that said that the charming President Qin and the up and coming newcomer Lin JingFei had an ambiguous relationship. Kang Yu was naturally also very curious.

But after interacting with them during this time, she felt that President Qin’s care towards his fiancee Miss Ruan did not seem to be fake.

Miss Ruan’s appearance and temperament were excellent. She was not inferior at all to Lin JingFei who was known to have good looks even in the entertainment circle.

She had heard that Ruan ZhiYin had entered A University after taking second place in the humanities exam in LanQiao City. After that, she entered Lawton’s School of business for further studies. She was a proper top student.

“Kang Yu, I remember that you are from BeiYao. Have you ever calculated how long it would take to get from BeiYao to LanQiao?”

“If you take a plane then it would not take more than two hours. But… Today is an exception. I have a friend who was going to come to LanQiao to play and had bought a plane ticket for today. LanQiao and BeiYao were both seaside cities. When it was typhoon season, flights would occasionally be delayed or cancelled by the weather.

After Kang Yu finished speaking, her two coworkers pushed a clothes rack with a wedding dress on it over.

Ruan ZhiYin’s attitude was relaxed, she half leaned against the sofa while she nodded and did not continue to talk.

There was a separate dressing room in the presidential suite and Ruan ZhiYin went inside to change.

The wedding dress was specially designed for Ruan ZhiYin by her good friend Gu LinLang’s personal design brand.

Layers upon layers of white lace draped down, with hundreds of pearls and diamonds inlaid within them, sparkling in the light. The slim one-shoulder design would highlight her sexy and exquisite collarbone as well as her graceful and charming figure.

Without saying anything, this wedding dress was a perfect match for Ruan ZhiYin. Everyone yelled out that it was beautiful.

Zhao He, the executive assistant of the wedding team came over and helped arrange the train of the dress.

The Ruan family was not doing as well as the Qin family in these recent years, but they were still very well known in LanQiao. The most important thing was that Ruan ZhiYin was about to marry into the Qin family and become Madam Qin.

Zhao He wanted to curry favour, so as she arranged the wedding dress, she flattered Ruan ZhiYin.

“Miss Ruan, I have been with many clients, but this is the first time I have seen a groom as handsome as President Qin. President Qin said the two of you met when you were 16. I think that the feelings from your first love are the most sincere.”

Her attitude was so eagerly attentive, it was almost mocking. But Ruan ZhiYin continued to be lost in thought. In the end she only politely curled her lips and  did not continue the conversation.

Zhao He was left in an awkward spot. Luckily at this time, Ruan ZhiYin’s cell phone rang and the caller ID gave her the opportunity to change the topic. She plastered a smile on her face and teasingly said: “President Qin is so considerate. He’s even calling at this time.”

Kang Yu saw Ruan ZhiYin slightly furrowing her brows and she thought that Ruan ZhiYin did not like Zhao He’s way of doing things. She raised her voice and said: “Alright then. Let’s stop bothering Miss Ruan. Let’s go over the wedding itinerary one more time.”

The other person was, after all, in charge of the wedding. Zhao He still had a bit of background and she did not dare to defy Kang Yu, so she could only bite her lips unwillingly.

The three people quickly left the room.
