Transmigrated into the Cannon Fodder's Daughter - Chapter 55.2

By the time they had arrived, it was four in the afternoon. Cang Ming had a house in the suburb, which was rather large and had a large lake behind it. The water reflected a dazzling amount of light, forming a Feng Shui formation. Oh, how Li Xiao would love to steal the supernatural powers of the formation.
The one who came out to greet them was Cang Ming’s partner, Lu Haisheng.
Lu Haisheng guided them into the house. And although the house didn’t have much furnishings, each piece of furniture carried an ancient charm. These pieces of furniture were worth very much!
Cang Ming seemed to like cyan, considering that all of his clothes were the same color. However, the green shirt he was currently wearing suited him well, exuding an aura of leisure and elegance.
Cang Ming raised an eyebrow as he looked at Li Xiao. “You already settled things with Zeng Lunian?”
He was well aware of the tension between Li Xiao and Zeng Lunian.
Li Xiao sighed before sitting down opposite of him. Cang Ming’s skin looked even better up close. It was clear and smooth, and Li Xiao couldn’t see most of his pores. Because his skin was so clear, even the slightest blemish on his skin caught Li Xiao’s eyes. She could very clearly see the markings pressed on his face.
Had he just been sleeping? It looked like he had just woken up!
Li Xiao took out the book, “Dragon Transformation” and handed it to Cang Ming.
Once Cang Ming saw the cover, a flash of understanding crossed his face. He flipped through it and said, “The Zeng family really does have some dragon blood.”
Cang Ming seemed to be in disbelief.
Suddenly, the book went up in flames. It seemed as though the cultivation methods were meaningless to Cang Ming. If Zeng Lunian were still alive, he would’ve been furious. The thing he cherished so much was now burnt to a crisp.
“Thank you for giving me this,” Cang Ming said.
Li Xiao pondered for a moment before saying, “Do you know how a living soul can enter the underworld.”
“Suicide,” Cang Ming yawned.
“Your joke isn’t funny.” Li Xiao’s eye twitched.
“What do you want to do in the underworld? Do you have someone you want to save?” Cang Ming asked.
Li Xiao went silent. After a while, she looked at Cang Ming. “I want to find the original owner of this body now.”
Cang Ming should be able to tell that this body didn’t belong to her.
Cang Ming smiled, but his face showed a bit of bewilderment, making him seem a bit dumb, as if he were unable to understand Li Xiao’s words.
“This body…doesn’t belong to me, so I want to find the original soul,” Li Xiao repeated.
Then, she would need to find a method for her to return to her own body.
Even if it would be a while before she could go back, Li Xiao wasn’t worried. She only needed her soul to cultivate, so she would be able to live her life to the fullest no matter what form she was in.
Strength was currency,
Cang Ming’s expression became increasingly befuddled. He stretched out and probed Li Xao’s forehead. Understanding flashed across his face. “Well, your forehead is much hotter than my hand. You must have a fever.”
His hand was icy cold like jade.
Lu Haisheng pinched the bridge of his nose. “Miss Li is a human. It’s normal for her body temperature to be higher than ours.”
The realization dawned on Cang Ming, and he slightly frowned. “But you didn’t steal that body. Your soul matches with your body.”
Cang Ming spoke with an air of certainty.
Li Xiao froze. According to Cang Ming, she was the original Li Xiao?
What about her years of cultivation experience she had before she transmigrated? Li Xiao couldn’t help but be bewildered.
Suddenly, Lu Haisheng’s phone rang. He picked up the phone, listened to the other speaker, before hanging up.
“Boss, there’s someone at the door. Should I take it? They’re offering quite a bit of money,” Lu Haisheng coughed.
As he spoke, he glanced at Li Xiao, who was still trapped in her daze.

At the Li family home…
Qu Lian, Li Qianfei, and Li Nanjue sat in the living room, staring at each other with wide eyes. Their expressions were haggard and dark circles hung below their eyes.
Li Qianfei was on the verge of insanity. “Dad, is Li Xiao still not picking up her phone?”
Li Nanjue solemnly nodded. He was tired after not resting well for several days in a row. And most of all, he wasn’t in a good mood. After leaving Li Xiao’s villa, they hadn’t been able to live peacefully.
It was as if they were haunted by evil spirits. Whenever they closed their eyes, they would relive the nightmarish encounter at Li Xiao’s villa. They couldn’t escape the nightmare.
Of course, after not sleeping for multiple days, a person could certainly die.
Qu Lian tried to put the Great Compassion Mantra in the house to beg for good luck, but it was to no avail. Qu Lian was on the verge of exploding because of her lack of sleep. But even if she was angry, she didn’t dare to seek out Li Xiao.
She had begun to fear her eldest granddaughter and could no longer boss her around as she did before.
Li Qianfei wished Uncle Zeng were still around.
But there was no Uncle Zeng. Even then, surely there were other Daoist masters in the world. Li Xiao couldn’t be the only one!
“Dad, do you know any Taoist masters? Quickly ask them to come and help us,” Li Xiao hurriedly asked Li Nanjue.
Li Qianfei was convinced that this was a big prank from Li Xiao. Karma would come back and strike Li Xiao.
Li Nanjue claimed to know a few. “I’ve heard of one, but he is a ghost that will only take jobs if he wants to. I’ll find a way to convince him.”
In any case, Li Nanjue didn’t want to have nightmares anymore.
