Your Most Faithful Companion - Chapter 14
Upon hearing those words, his eyes moved subtly and placed both of his hands behind him, “If you really thought of me as your uncle, how would’ve things ended up like they did today?”
All of Cen Sen’s movements today were targeted against his supporters.
Both knew this, so there was no need to go about this tactfully.
Cen Sen opened the document file next to him with a plain expression and took off the cap of his pen. Pushing both towards Huang Pen, he said “You should know that today’s situation is not a coincidence. Also, retirement is not a bad thing; I remembered Uncle Huang garden was taken care of really well. I think it would be better if you have more time to take care of it in the future.”
Cen Sen only wore a dark exclusively tailored suit shirt today, with the silver square-shaped button on his wrist vividly showing when he lifted his hand to organize his collar. Complementing the black and white metallic decor of the office, it displayed even more of his coldness.
Upon hearing the latter part of the sentence, Huang Peng’s eyes narrowed, and his confidence returned. “You really want me to leave?” he said, his words spitting out of his mouth with force.
Without avoiding the topic, Cen Sen pushed a file forward, “Uncle Huang, take a look at this first.”
Huang Peng glanced at the document sharply. With a bad premonition, he froze for a moment before walking forward look through it, his face tensed up as he flipped through the pages.
Cen Sen had his eyes downcast and said unhurriedly, “Misappropriating public funds and selling trade secrets. Uncle Huang, you should know the consequences of these acts if word spreads to the officials.”
“How did you…”
Huang Peng was unable to hide his nervousness, his voice trembling. He couldn’t think clearly. How did Cen Sen find out about all these secrets that even his closest subordinates didn’t know about? And how can the evidence be so detailed and accurate?
Cen Sen didn’t answer his question, only lightly tapping on the edge of the document with his index finger and said, “Uncle Huang, think about this carefully.”
Huang Peng stood still with his eyes blank.
Not knowing how much time had passed, he slowly recovered his senses.
As an intelligent person, he quickly understood the situation he was in. Staring at Cen Sen, he slowly picked up the pen. He was unwilling to bend his waist, not even willing to look at his signature while signing at the end of the document.
Cen Sen didn’t avoid his stare. “Thanks for your cooperation, Uncle Huang. You can rest assured as I will do my best to ensure the highest quality of your retirement life.” Cen Sen said plainly after Zhou Jiaheng confirmed that Huang Peng had signed the document.
Blue veins bulged on Huang Peng’s forehead as the corner of his mouth also twitched subtly. Turning, he headed out of the office in silence.
Although he didn’t bend his back, his back profile did not appear as straight now as it was when he first walked into the office.
As his figure faded into the distance, Zhou Jiaheng walked forward casually to report to Cen Sen, “Executive Cen, Jing Sheng Corporation agreed to the land transfer located at the North of Xingcheng, and Executive Dong lowered the price by 5%. I’ve already told someone to deliver the present to Jing Sheng while the Legal Affairs Department is preparing the contract. We are expecting to have the contract signed by this week.”
Cen Sen nodded calmly.
Zhou Jiaheng handed him the tablet, “This is the adjusted agenda for this week, please review it. Also, Xixiang from South Bridge called to invite you and Mrs. Cen for dinner tonight.”
Cen Sen skimmed the tablet and nodded again.
Not knowing what he was thinking, he suddenly asked, “She’s at home?”
“She’s at Boca Tianhua.” Zhou Jiaheng replied with his head lowered.
