Your Most Faithful Companion - Chapter 22
After Cen Sen took control of the corporation, he made adjustments to some current as well as prospective projects such as the hotel project of the West tourist area. Although the evaluation result of that project was only average, with little impact on the company, they were still a little reluctant to let go of this unfruitful project.
On the other hand, to Mr. Zhang, having a well-known hotel brand join his project was indispensable for him to improve the overall positioning as well as their service quality.
That was where tonight’s invite came from; one side wanted to stay in their original partnership, yet the other side was waiting calmly for a better deal.
It was already late into the night, and Mr. Zhang still wasn’t able to achieve any notable result from Cen Sen even after much sweet-talk. He had made many compromises, desperate to keep this partnership. In the end, it was all for little gain, yet he still had to express his gratitude to Cen Sen, as if he was begging the other party to earn a profit off of him.
Cen Sen and the other investor, Executive Yang, already left Heyonghui, leaving Mr. Zhang pulling on his necktie in annoyance.
He became angrier as he watched Zhang Baoshu playing with her bag hesitantly, thinking if she should follow Cen Sen’s footsteps. “Follow up! Where did you come from? What the heck are you? Why are you pretending to be innocent here?!”
Zhang Baoshu was angry and afraid, but she didn’t talk back. Although they had the same last name, he wasn’t someone who she could offend.
She saw the carboy bending his back, opening the car door for Cen Sen as she ran out of the room.
“Executive Cen!” She yelled courageously.
Cen Sen slowed his steps and looked up slightly.
Zhang Baoshu took a deep breath and walked forward quickly in high heels.
Stopping in front of Cen Sen, she gripped the strap of her bag and asked shyly, “Executive Cen, can you drive me home? I didn’t bring my car… no, I don’t have a car.”
“If it’s too much trouble, then… can I at least add your WeChat?” She quickly added after her last sentence.
Cen Sen let out a quiet laugh.
Zhang Baoshu looked up slightly and realized that his gaze was on her bag.
She borrowed this bag from her agent; it had a nice color and fashionable style, which originated two years from some well-known brand. Of course, this bag also had a price that she couldn’t afford as a newbie who just entered the entertainment industry.
Cen Sen also remembered the color and style of this bag; it was the bag that Ji Mingshu wore before their wedding night.
When she woke up that night and saw Cen Sen sleeping next to her, she was so angry that she dumped everything out from the bag and covered him with it. She even hung it on to his head to make this pervert pay for taking her virginity.
“Executive Cen?” Zhang Baoshu asked again anxiously, shaking her phone slightly to remind him.
Cen Sen recovered his attention and looked at her Wechat homepage for a few seconds.
Zhang Baoshu’s ‘shu’ was not that ‘shu.’
“Sorry, but I’m already married.” He said while turning the ring on his ring finger to remind her directly.
Zhang Baoshu was shocked for a slight moment.
She had been staring at him the entire night, so of course, she saw the ring on his finger. But whether or not these men were married, did it matter?
She instinctively took Cen Sen’s reminder as a hint. Although it was disappointing, it was expected.
After some seconds of silence, she courageously lifted up her chin to meet Cen Sen’s eyes and said directly, “I don’t mind.”
“But I do.”
Zhang Baoshu looked at him, puzzled, “Executive Cen… What do you mean?”
Cen Sen replied patiently, “Doesn’t your school have a standard with admitting students? Can you even understand scripts with your current level of comprehension?
Cen Sen got onto the car and continued leisurely, “Your look, mannerism, education, and family background, none can compare to my wife. How about you wake up and see reality.”
