“Qi Qi, what exactly is going on here? Where did you get all this money from?” Su Meixian questioned in a strict voice.

Bai Qi sighed.

He knew that something like this would happen from the start… It was so much money, his mom would definitely suspect something.

“What illegal activities have you gotten yourself into?” Su Meixian’s voice sounded stricter by the moment. “Or is it…”

Su Meixian’s voice became a little stifled. “Don’t tell me… you couldn’t take it anymore and did something silly?” she asked in a tone of disbelief.

Before Su Meixian could continue asking, her colleague suddenly called for her. “A-Mei, come over, come over!”

One of the photos was of a side view of a person, coming down from a car, with a man standing in front of the person. The other picture was a shot taken of Bai Qi when he was on campus. He had an orange-colored baseball uniform on and was turning over to talk to someone.

Su Meixian was utterly confused. “Is… Is that so?”

“Don’t you know? Your son is married, and he’s married to a mega-celebrity. This news is all over the internet right now!”

There was a drastic change in Su Meixian’s facial expressions. She immediately walked toward the lounge with her phone in hand, locking the door behind her.

Very soon, Bai Qi’s phone rang again.

Lady Su’s voice was suddenly an octave higher as she said, “Bai Qi! Did you go to get married behind your parents’ backs? What happened to your boyfriend? This means that you’re having a fake marriage! I’m telling you, you’d better come home at once…”
