Shang Guang rushed to explain. “By then, you’d have to attend all such events with Xi-ge.”

“I know, I can’t embarrass Xi-ge.” Bai Qi nodded with an obedient look in his eye.

Xi Chengyun threw an indifferent glance at Shang Guang.

Shang Guang wanted to say something but in the end, he wimped out.

“Let’s go home,” Bai Qi said.

Surprisingly, he didn’t make an issue out of it.

When they reached home, Bai Qi gave another call to Mu Dong and the rest.

Mu Dong said, “We won’t be going to Jiang Fangcheng’s engagement ceremony…”

Mu Dong thought for a bit and realized it was true. He then said, “Oh, I also want to give the bride a small reminder that Jiang Fangcheng is a shitty person, he kept wanting to have his way with you.. Sigh, forget it, that won’t do. What if the bride ends up hating you?”

Bai Qi recalled the image of Jiang Fangcheng’s fiance. “She wouldn’t.”

Xi Chengyun nodded in agreement.

“Say that we met during one of my events.”

“Oh, okay.” Bai Qi paused and continued, “Then? You fell in love with me at first sight? How was I back then which made you fall in love with me at first sight?”

Xi Chengyun remained silent.

He stared quietly at Bai Qi.

Bai Qi sighed. “Fine, let’s just say that we grew to love each other. Coming up with a story for a relationship that started due to love at first sight is too difficult.”

Xi Chengyun finally opened his mouth again and said, “Briefly write down the places you’ve been to in the past 3 years for me.”

Bai Qi nodded and immediately went to fetch some pen and paper.

Within less than half an hour, a new piping, passionate love story was born, which saved a lot of work on Bai Qi’s end.

Bai Qi felt that Xi-laoshi was so reliable with all of his heart.

The next day, Bai Qi and Xi Chengyun reached the filming site early. The staff was still setting up the live broadcast cameras when they reached.

“Please, follow me,” a staff member politely escorted them backstage.

Bai Qi entered the dressing room while Xi Chengyun stood outside the room and chatted with the television director in a low voice.

“Hey, isn’t this an old piece from LV? It’s not sold in the market anymore.” The makeup artist’s sudden voice brought Bai Qi back to reality. Bai Qi took a glance and realized that the makeup artist was talking about his small backpack.

There were slight signs of wear and tear on the backpack and the ‘LV’ letters could be clearly seen.

A small smile graced Bai Qi’s face. “Nope.”

The makeup artist turned away and muttered, “So it’s a fake product? It’s not impossible, since he was nothing before his marriage to Xi-laoshi.” By the time the makeup artist turned back, there was a smile on that person’s face, but their words weren’t very friendly as they said, “Didn’t you ask Xi-laoshi to buy you a new one?”

Bai Qi cocked his head, his expression entirely pure as he replied, “I can buy one for myself if I want to. Why should I trouble Xi-ge? After this show, the appearance fees that I’d get would be enough for me to buy a couple of these.”

Words were stuck in the makeup artist’s throat, and the person silently cursed that Bai Qi was a cunning vixen who was unfashionable and materialistic.
