After Becoming the Hero’s Ex-fiancée - Chapter 201
The Boundless Ranking (1)
Gui Jing and the others looked calm on the surface, but were actually brimming over with speculative curiosity at the intimate relationship before them. Meanwhile, Li Wei Zhenjun raised his hand and wrapped it around the beauty’s waist. He nodded at them and said, “Sorry, but I have some personal matters with Zheng Zhenren. We’ll take our leave first.”
His long robe sleeve fell gracefully, conveniently blocking a section of the beauty’s slender waist, revealing a few of those jade-like fingers that imprisoned her. Gui Jing and the others watched as Zheng Zhenren blushed with annoyance, and all lowered their eyes, bowing respectfully and saying, “Safe travels, Zhenjun.”
“Cui Wang!” Zheng Wan had been trying to push him away but found that the force around her waist had tightened even more. Annoyed, she pounded him. “Who has personal matters with you?”
“You,” Cui Wang gave a light humph. “Come, cloud.”
Without giving her a chance to argue, he stepped onto a cloud with her in his embrace. The cloud was as pure as snow, and they stood on it, it felt like they were floating like immortals. Zheng Wan curiously tapped her foot on it and realised she was getting distracted, and quickly snapped back to attention. She looked up to see Cui Wang gazing down at her, and couldn’t keep from giving him a push, “Let me go.”
But Cui Wang didn’t release her; instead, he held her even tighter. He said in a low and hoarse voice, “Is that how your Master usually addresses you?”
“So what if it is?” Her Master was never one to act by the book. When he was in a good mood, he would even call his enemies that.
“You promised me.”
“I. Did. Not.
“Then why is that person here?”
Zheng Wan thought for a while before realising who the person referred to by Cui Wang was. There was a hint of surprise in her eyes as she said, “Cui Wang, how long has it been?”
“Not long.”
Zheng Wan conceded and didn’t continue to dwell on this topic. “Alright, alright, I won’t argue about that. So… if someone gets close to me, do you get very angry?”
“Yes.” Cui Wang rubbed her wrist with his fingertips, almost making it red, and told her seriously, “Very angry, extremely so.”
Zheng Wan covered her mouth, her eyes twinkling like stars, “You’re not jealous, are you?”
“Do you like me?” She pushed her little head toward him, standing on her tiptoes, as if trying to look deep into his eyes seriously.
Cui Wang stood straight, not avoiding her gaze and letting her look. “I don’t.”
“Then why are you angry?”
“If I were to get close to that Qian…”
“Qian Shuang.”
“Right, if I were to get close to Qian Shuang Zhenjun now, would you be angry?”
Zheng Wan thought for a moment and felt that there was a high probability that she would be angry, and very angry at that. In the past, that scholar from the Gao family liked her first but then went to like someone else, and that already made her angry. She nodded, “I would.”
“So, Zheng Wan, you should have some self-awareness when you planted the love gu that day.” Cui Wang’s icy fingertips slid across her fair and clear cheek, tucking a strand of hair that was blown loose by the wind behind her ear. “If I see it happen again, I won’t assist you in your cultivation anymore.”
Zheng Wan was caught in a vulnerable spot and could only respond with resignation. “My Master calls everyone like that. He even called my Third Senior Sister ‘Qingqing’ before.
“Also, you hurt me.” She raised her wrist to show him. Her skin was snow-white and as delicate as a baby’s. After being rubbed by Cui Wang, a red mark appeared quickly, making her fair skin look as if it had been ruthlessly handled.
Cui Wang’s eyes darkened. “You’re a cultivator.”
Wounds from a small knife healed twice as fast for cultivators than mortals.
“I don’t care, it’s your fault.” Zheng Wan persistent pestering and petty tantrum was not something just anyone could endure. “Compensate me.”
She snuggled up to him. The cloud was quite stable, so Zheng Wan wasn’t afraid of falling. She reached into his wide robe, wrapped her arms around his waist, and tilted her head. “Compensate, compensate, compensate, compensate, compensate.” The seductive melody echoed in his ears.
“With what?”
Zheng Wan’s eyes darted around. “How about this cloud?” She had taken a liking to it.
Floating gracefully in the air, the cloud complemented her enchanting beauty.
“I’m already in the later stage of the Centring stage, and I’ll reach Grand Completion soon. After that, it’s the Accomplisher stage. I can use it once I advance to that stage. Besides, you already have your sword. Men should use swords, not something as feminine as this.”
Cui Wang cleared his throat, neither acquiescing nor denying.
“Cui Wang, Cui Wang, Cui Wang, Cui Wang…” “How about it how about it how about it…”
“Alright,” muttered Cui Wang.
Zheng Wan jumped up in delight and kissed his chin. Prickled by his chin stubble, she covered her mouth, then exclaimed, “Ah, I forgot about the baby. It’s all your fault, Cui Wang!”
Cui Wang, “…”
“Your Second Senior Sister will take care of him.”
“…That’s true.” Zheng Wan had always been a carefree spirit. Although she had tried her best to save the baby at the time, she hadn’t developed a deep attachment to him. Thinking about how thoughtful and meticulous her Second Senior Sister was, Zheng Wan was sure that she would take good care of the baby, and so put it out of her mind. What mattered most now was to mollify Cui Wang.
She wrapped her arm around his waist again and rested her head on his chest.
