Come Here, Tyrant! - Chapter 39

Ejed, who moved directly from the warehouse, took out the magic scroll he had prepared and attached it to the floor.

Hwaak.

Mysterious smoke rises from the magic circle, and a huge amount of dog chew begins to accumulate.

Now, taking a step back and watching the sight, Ejed continued to cough dryly.

The cold got worse. At this point, his head was squeezed to the point that he was afraid it would explode.

Ejed, who was fighting the sickness, slowly leaned against the wall. Then, through the wide open door, a huge number of dogs began to flock in like a tide.

Their tails shook like pinwheels in a strong wind. This place, full of scented dog chew, was a paradise for dogs.

Now, with the back of his hand, he rubbed his feverish cheek and smiled. The skin was a little itchy due to the rubbing of the mask, but it wasn’t too bad.  It felt good to see the children eat well.

Actually, he didn’t like dogs from the beginning. Since he was young, he had an instinctive sense of rejection because of the bloody battle that almost ended his life with a monster who disguised itself as a small and cute figure.

But the news that Annie was raising a dog changed him. At first, he looked for things to get acquainted with the dog, one of Annie’s family members.

Now, the process wasn’t boring at all. As time passed, he fell in love with dogs, and helping abandoned dogs had become a lifelong mission.

Recently, he worked hard to donate to groups for street cats. The more he did so, Ejed learned more about the other side of his empire.

There actually existed such trash that would throw away pets.

‘How can they abandon those cute and innocent children?’

Most of the dogs who come here are the ones who have been raised by people. When entering the shelter, many children missed their owner all day, whined, and refused to eat.

In particular, the dogs who were abused now bit his hands and feet when Ejed approached.

Every time they do that, his heart hurts a lot more than the bloody hand bites.

Dogs abandoned because of sickness and old age, dogs that were cute at first and then abandoned after becoming adults.

The stories were varied, but they had the same thing in common.

That the owner was garbage.

A law was made for those who abandoned their dogs to be punished, but there were also humans who bound their dogs by the forest and ran away.  Ejed was very angry every time they did that.

The red eyes shone eerily.

“Wow. It’s dog chew!”

“I guess you donated dog chew this time. Haha. Thank you very much…”

“Kill those guys…”

When Ejed gritted his teeth without knowing it, the shelter workers who had come in were surprised and stopped. They shuffled back.

Ejed, whose senses became dull, did not even recognize their actions.  After cursing the bad owners for a long time, he lowered his head.

A white dog was hanging from his leg and scratching it with his claws.

As if asking to know who he was, and waving his tail happily.

The mouth hidden in the mask opened and made a bright smile.

“Jake!”

The hand that was reaching for the puppy flinched and stopped.

‘No. Not today.’

Ejed took a step aside and avoided it.

Still, a sweet voice flowed out of his mouth.

“How have you been?”

“Bark Bark?! (Why are you here now?!) Bark Bark Bark! (I thought you were dead!) Bark Bark Bark Bark (I’ve been waiting for a while!)”

The puppy jumped three or four steps closer, rejoicing with its whole body.

This guy left a big scar, like a medal, on Ejed’s hand last year.

Jake’s neck was wrapped in a chain-like collar and was initially tied to a tree by the old owner. It was a miracle that he even survived because his leash was violently digging into their skin.

The abandoned dog shelter employees tried to remove it, but they had to give up because Jake tried to bite their hand.

No one was willing to remove it, and just stamped their feet. At that time, Ejed was the only one who was willing to do the removal.

He severed the iron wrapped around Jake’s neck even though the blood was spilling from his hand.

Yes, do consider adopting from your local shelter before buying a dog. Animals bred in puppy mills live a very sad life.
