Shen Rongyu waited for her to rest for a while, and continued to help her practice. Ji Qingzhuo’s back was ramrod straight, and she tried to keep herself in a decent state, but she forgot that she usually only spent an hour in her practice. But even her consciousness was clumsy. After dodging it a few times, one of the shiny fragments hit her arm, causing her some pain.

The moment the shard touched her consciousness, she seemingly fell into a completely unfamiliar environment, reminiscent of the deepest part of the abyss, dark and lightless. The icy chinks of chains swept past her ears, accompanied by a cold hard glint of metal. The chains slowly wrapped around someone’s body like a snake, and slowly tightened. And then, she heard what sounded like bones cracking.

The cold darkness was oppressive and cramped, and Ji Qingzhou closed her eyes in a panic. By the time she opened them again, she was back in the middle of the blue stream.

She lowered her head and stared at the flowing blue air currents, still silent.

Three hours was not a long time for the two of them.

It was just that after Shen Rongyu released Ji Qingzhuo’s wrist, she turned backward and almost fell on her back. Her physical fitness was poor, and after sitting in the same position for three hours, her body was already numb.

Shen Rongyu interrupted his thoughts, got up, and said he was leaving.

The Burial Snow Sword hanging on his waist produced a clanging sword sound. This made Ji Qingzhuo recall the scene she saw in the dazzling shard.

But then, why was he locked up there?

She watched Shen Rongyu leave and sat by herself in her room, massaging her legs for a good hour to relieve the stiffness in her legs and feet.

When she changed into her pajamas and climbed into bed, she asked the system an unprecedented question, “System, don’t you know about Shen Rongyu?”

“Oh.” Ji Qingzhou lifted the quilt and covered her head. “Then I’m sleeping.”

“Host, I have good news to tell you.” The system said excitedly, “Since you got close enough to Shen Rongyu, and he even hugged you tonight, I absorbed enough energy and unlocked a new function.”

“What’s the new function?” Ji Qingzhou was very sleepy, so she asked perfunctorily.

“I can feel if someone has killing intent towards you within a 300-meter radius. Such an early warning mechanism can substantially ensure your safety, Host!” the system asked for credit.
