Don't Call Me By My Username! - Chapter 12
Chapter 12
Clear blue skies and snowy landscapes. I could hear the sound of laughter from my classmates from all around me.
On the slopes that were almost completely rented out, the orange clothing rented for the students stood out.
I thought it was pretty nice, save for the incredibly lame number on it, but we didn’t come here to play around, so it couldn’t be helped.
“Oh, there you are.”
After a short briefing, we were all dismissed and Akira suddenly called out to me. Although he was dressed in smart black clothing with green lines, the plate with a large “TEACHER” written in the center made it, too, look lame. Even Akira’s charm was diminished by half.
“Hey, Haru. Let me—”
“I don’t wanna.”
“I haven’t said anything yet. Don’t answer me so quickly.”
“No matter what you say, I don’t wanna.”
I mean, why did he think I would say yes?! He was probably going to say things like “I’ll teach you, so let’s ski together”. Of course I wouldn’t want that.
“You’re no fun. I’m good at this.”
He slipped his arm around my shoulder and leaned closer, bringing his lips close to my ear.
His unnecessarily low and alluring whispering voice made me remember the events of this morning even if I didn’t want to. My face slowly heated up.
This was why I didn’t want to see him. I didn’t want to meet Akira today. I wasn’t mature enough to be able to act normally after what he did to me a few hours ago.
“Could you please move your hand away? Takumi is feeling troubled.”
“!”
Suddenly, my shoulder was yanked and Akira’s arm released me. Yuki stepped in between us, hiding me behind his back.
“If you have the time to mess around with Takumi, you should go and teach the other female students, Mr. Kaji. Everyone is waiting for you.”
In the direction Yuki pointed to, a few girls around us were watching our conversation from a distance. They were all waiting for him as if waiting for a celebrity to come out, looking restless while keeping an eye on us.
“It’s up to me to decide who I ski with.”
“Persistent men are unlikeable, Mr. Kaji. Come on Takumi, let’s go.”
Yuki replied flatly in a cold voice that I have never heard before, then grabbed my hand. As he yanked me I almost lost my balance, but I staggered along.
Akira stared at me with an expression that seemed to want to say something, but I purposefully pretended to not notice.
It was extremely difficult to walk with the ski poles under my arm and the ski board still attached. Sure enough, I stepped on Yuki’s ski board within a few meters, making him lose his balance.
“Ah, sorry.”
“It’s okay. Rather than that, I’m sorry for selfishly taking you away.”
“No need to apologize. If anything, you saved me . . .”
“I see. Hah, I should’ve written that I’m a beginner too.”
“I wish I could have skied together with you,” Yuki said in a disappointed voice while slumping his shoulders.
I wanted to ski together with Yuki too. I heard that some of the students were matching their level with a friend they get along with, but the difference between me and Yuki was like heaven and earth. Maybe even more than that.
“I’ll do my best . . . So when I finally get to ride the ski lift, let’s ski together.”
“Huh? Yeah, I’ll look forward to it.”
“Then, see you later,” Yuki said reluctantly before disappearing toward the slopes.
“Heeey, Takumi. What are you doing there? The beginner’s course is about to start.”
“Wait, wait! I’m coming!”
He rushed me to come quickly, then I headed toward Kazuki with awkward steps. I hoped I could ski together with Yuki during this trip.
With this in mind, I slowly stepped forward onto the slopes.
