Forced to Marry the Enemy Prince - Chapter 35
Xian Sheng was not sure what Zhan Lue managed to see. His brain kept recalling if he did anything out of the ordinary today.
Was it because his reaction towards the breast enlarging pastry was so extreme that it aroused Zhan Lue’s suspicion? However, when he thought about it more carefully, he was not that mad about the breast enlarging pills—his temper rose because of Zhan Lue’s attitude and words.
His emotions could not be influenced by his reason. He was already trying his best to control himself!
Zhan Lue’s thumb caressed Xian Sheng’s face, and Xian Sheng let him do it obediently. “What’s wrong? Can’t you tell me?”
Zhan Lue leaned in closer to him and his forehead rested slowly against Xian Sheng’s. Zhan Lue’s breath puffed on his face. “I can’t remember.”
He touched Xian Sheng’s lips and his gaze was completely captured by him. “My entire mind is filled with you.”
Zhan Lue was extremely serious about it, yet Xian Sheng did not believe him. Pulling his blankets up, he covered half of his face and said, “Then stop looking at me.”
“It’s too late,” said Zhan Lue. “Once I caught a glimpse of you, I’ll remember you forever.”
Xian Sheng pulled the blanket slightly higher and covered his eyes. As he still felt unhappy, he could only say, “Fine. Sleep over there.”
“I want to stay by the Princess’ side.” Zhan Lue tried to ask for more. “Let me hug you to sleep tonight.”
“You…” Xian Sheng revealed his eyes again and scolded him, “You don’t care about me at all.”
Zhan Lue immediately rebuked him, “Impossible…”
“If you cared about me, you wouldn’t do something that I don’t like after I became angry. If you cared about me, then you wouldn’t have stood outside the room, forcing me to relent and let you enter the room. If you cared about me… You should’ve waited for me to calm down, instead of trying to take advantage of me after I let you in and was nice to you.”
His teary eyes were filled with blame. “You don’t care about my feelings and emotions. So you don’t like me genuinely at all.”
Zhan Lue did not know what to say. After thinking for a while, he said, “But didn’t I keep consoling you just now…?”
Xian Sheng interrupted him. “Your consolation only added fuel to the fire. And I submitted first. Were you even consoling me?”
“…” Zhan Lue frowned. “Didn’t you calm down just now?”
“It was only on the surface. I’m still very angry inside. I feel very wronged.” He emphasised, “Extremely wronged.”
Zhan Lue became silent for a moment. Finally, he pointed to the couch reluctantly. “Then… I’ll sleep there?”
“Humph.”
Xian Sheng twisted his head around. His smooth and pale cheek made Zhan Lue want to kiss him. However, Xian Sheng had already stated his stance so clearly and irrefutably just now. If Zhan Lue continued with his actions without any regard to the consequences, then it would prove that he really did not care about Xian Sheng.
Yet, he still did not want to leave. He tried to make Xian Sheng call him back. “Then I’ll go now?”
Xian Sheng directly turned his body to the side, using his actions to shatter Zhan Lue’s illusions.
Zhan Lue initially wanted to explain himself by climbing onto the bed and consoling him. However, he could only walk towards the couch, turning his head back once every three steps. He touched the place where he slept for more than half a month and laid down, his face falling.
Xian Sheng, who was lying on the bed, suddenly moved. Zhan Lue immediately sat up and prepared to be summoned over. However, Xian Sheng lifted his hand and let the drapes down. He did not even allow Zhan Lue to look at him. What a heartless woman.
After making sure that Zhan Lue would not come over and make trouble, Xian Sheng fell asleep quickly. However, Zhan Lue glared at the curtains with a gloomy expression.
He lied back down, straining his ears to hear the breathing of his loved one. Counting them one by one, he finally fell asleep.
Usually, it was rare for Xian Sheng to see Zhan Lue in the morning. Zhan Lue woke up very early, while Xian Sheng woke up late. It was the same today.
He rarely ventured out of the palace. Hence, he was too lazy to tie his hair up or wear accessories. With a bare face, he would usually write, draw or read in the room.
There were no books that he could read in the room, so Xian Sheng turned his gaze to Zhan Lue’s study room.
Although he did bring books over from Southern Liang for him to cure his boredom during the journey, the carriage ride was so bumpy that he fell asleep. Still, he managed to finish most of them these few days in the palace.
Wrapping the coat around him, he walked towards the study room. Unexpectedly, no one stopped him and Xian Sheng entered directly. His gaze suddenly fell upon the plum blossom branch on the table. It was the “reward” he gave Zhan Lue the other day.
