Semantic Error - Chapter 17.2
“Fuck, won’t you stop?”
Sang Woo let go of the door as soon as he shouted. His left hand trembled weakly on his knee. Turning his head to the right window, he said, “Why… are you screaming at me, cursing at me, and treating me terribly?”
It was funny. Jae Young had been adapting himself to the superficial way of dividing people into good and bad, but it was meaningless now. Was this the only price to pay for trying to be a good person? Did he sincerely love him? It was a relief that he didn’t bring that up.
“You,” Jae Young gritted his teeth and said, “What the hell do you think I am?”
“…”
“Why no answer? You’re usually good at this.”
There was a gnashing sound as his molars meshed together. Did he know that while he couldn’t reach him, Jae Young had searched the whole town in fear something might happen to him? Would he like to know why he was so angry? Jae Young continued to talk, feeling the anger that darkened his eyes.
“Am I just a tool to satisfy your libido?”
Sang Woo didn’t say anything. Jae Young couldn’t choose which one angered him more: keeping his mouth shut or him saying a ton of rubbish nonchalantly.
‘It’s about allowing each other to do what we normally do between relationships.’
‘I didn’t know I had this taste.’
‘If it’s not sorted out by then… I just need to find someone else.’
When he thought about it, Jae Young turned away, but Chu Sang Woo had shown a consistent attitude. If his words were sincere, there was nothing complicated between them and there was only one thing left to do.
Jae Young spoke slowly as he clenched the wheel, “You don’t want to talk? Do you want to do it with your body?”
“What does that mean?”
“Let’s go have sex. What else is there to do between you and me?”
“I don’t want to.”
His answer came almost immediately. The steering wheel was so tight that his fingers turned white at the knuckles.
“Why? You don’t like me anymore?”
“I don’t need someone like you.”
Every word spoken was a fatal blow. What had he done wrong so far? He came all the way here to be this miserable. His eyes turned dark.
“I warn you,” Jae Young clenched his teeth. “If you really want me to turn crazy, keep talking like that.”
“Whatever I say, it’s up to me.”
Then his attempts to unlock the door of a running car started again. Jae Young screamed for him to stop, but this time he tried to keep the door open like a madman. What was he going to do when he was driving at 70km per hour? Jae Young’s anger was at the top of his head, but he held himself back and looked around. In the darkness, only apartments and factories were visible, and there was no place to talk. Jae Young pulled over on the shoulder of the road before Sang Woo could recklessly jump onto the highway.
“Are you crazy? Do you want to die?”
Jae Young lost his temper and screamed. His clenched fist trembled on his knees. Sang Woo gasped as he stared at the car window. It looked like there was a wall between them that hindered proper communication.
“Even when I ask you where we’re going, you won’t tell me. Cursing, sarcasm, anger, intimidation…”
Sang Woo’s distorted expression looked like he was suffering. Then he raised his palm and swept his face down. Jae Young felt both the desire to hug his thin trembling shoulders and the urge to hurt him.
“I’m very drunk. I’ll go.”
Sang Woo tried to open the door, but Jae Young grabbed him by the shoulder and turned his body toward him.
Jae Young’s hand climbed up to his neck and grabbed his chin. The red mark on his neck was clearly visible, and his grip tightened.
“Who did that?”
Jae Young pressed on someone else’s trace on Sang Woo with his thumb. Then, he turned Sang Woo’s chin to both sides to see if there were other traces left unnoticed. Sang Woo kept his mouth shut and only started at Jae Young.
“The one from before?”
From the moment he saw that bastard, he already had a dirty hunch. Jae Young guessed that if it wasn’t for affection, Chu Sang Woo wouldn’t have a fight with a passer-by. Sang Woo nodded silently.
“What did you two do?”
The voice that came out of his mouth was so sharp that it didn’t sound like Jae Young at all.
