Fostering the Male Lead - Chapter 146
“There is something I really want to ask him. I’ll just ask that and go home quietly.”
Seeing my blazing eyes, Leonard seemed to have noticed something and softened his stiff eyes.
“His Highness must have done something wrong.”
Actually, Sihael had done nothing wrong, but I still quietly nodded. It was just I knew if I didn’t do this, Leonard would forcefully send me back.
‘Since I’ve come this far, I’ll have to listen to his answer.’
If I went back without any outcome like this, I knew that I would stay up all night because of the unfairness.
“He’s in a meeting. It will take some time. What are you going to do?”
“I’ll wait.”
I followed Leonard and moved to his office.

The meeting hall of the main palace.
The emperor, empress, crown prince, and ministers were gathered together. The Emperor, who sat on a higher seat, looked around and clicked his tongue when he saw an empty seat.
“Eutis didn’t come again today.”
“Your Majesty, the prince is not feeling well, so I asked him to rest.”
Everyone clicked their tongues inwardly at the sight of the empress spouting lies without changing her face.
Who among them didn’t know that she was spouting lies?
The ministers, including the emperor, knew very well that he was not ill, but that he rather didn’t come because he was sleeping in late, and even if he was sick, it must have been from a bottle of alcohol.
As usual, the meeting started without Eutis.
“Your Majesty, the recent movements of the monsters are unusual.”
“We have also noticed that the movement of some wizards have impure intentions.”
“The only ones who would do such a thing are those Mage Tower bastards!”
A minister raised his voice, saying that he had sensed a disturbing movement in the Mage Tower, and that the monsters that had recently increased and attacked human beings were all tested in the Mage Tower, so an extensive investigation was needed.
The emperor frowned at the aspect of confrontation with the Mage Tower.
“The Lord of the Mage Tower is quietly taking care of the monsters, but she can’t help but treat them as rebels. That’s why the empire can’t develop and is turning around.”
At that time, the murmurs stopped abruptly as the words landed coldly in the meeting room.
People’s eyes were focused on Sihael. Sihael looked only at the empress, ignoring the gaze directed at him, and curled up the corners of his lips.
The sight of the Empress, pretending not to know what she had done, and trying to put the blame on the Lord of Mage Tower was extremely spiteful.
‘It’s always the Empress who talks bullshit.’
The ministers flinched at Sihael’s gaze and averted their eyes. She had tried to touch the Mage tower a few times so far, but lately it had gotten worse.
Whether she really had the intention of knocking out the master of the Mage Tower, she was a disgusting woman anyway.
“Stop talking nonsense, find the rebellion and stomp on it.”
The harsh words did not go well with the fresh, pretty smile. The Empress slightly raised her eyebrows.
Leonard swallowed nervously.
‘I told him to mind his words.’
Whether he knew or not that Leonard was sighing at his harsh words, Sihael did not stop.
“One must suffocate so that they can never climb again. Isn’t that right, Empress?”
“Of course not. They’re rebels. You must never let them go.”
Despite the words directed at her, the Empress did not change her apathetic expression. No matter how much he tried to provoke her, her eyes wouldn’t blink, so it was like a battle between spear and shield.
It wasn’t a sight that you’d get to see once or twice, but the ministers nervously swallowed as they watched the two of them fight.
As always, it was the Emperor who provided them the relief from the chilly atmosphere caused by the two of them.
“Then, you don’t have to go through difficult things, Sihael, take care of it.”
“Your Majesty.”
The Empress hurriedly opened her mouth, but it was Sihael who struck first.
“I will not disappoint you.”
He had already talked with the emperor about this. Like the Empress who likes to play behind the scenes, this time, Sihael struck first.
The empress shut her mouth as she realized that too. Her face was still cold, but the corners of her mouth quivered slightly. It was a look of resentment that only someone who had known her for a long time would know.
Sihael twisted the corners of his lips at the empress’s expression, which he often saw recently.
“She can’t be beaten forever.”
It was time to start hunting.
The meeting, which kept going round and round, finally came to an end.
It was decided to strengthen the security of the National Foundation Festival in preparation for the attack of the monsters and to investigate the increasingly large rebel forces.
Sihael, who had left the meeting, loosened his cravat, feeling irritated.
‘I hope we won’t see each other until the Foundation festival is over.’
Every time they faced each other, it felt like bugs were crawling on his body.
Do all annoying people make me feel like this?
Sihael, who had clashed with the empress several times throughout the meeting, was irritated and even took off his jacket.
“Leonard, prepare to warm up and come to the Training grounds.”
“I’m sorry but it would be difficult.”
“Why?”
Sihael, who tried to relieve stress through sparring, frowned in displeasure when he couldn’t even do that.
“Rosetta is here.”
“Rosetta?”
“She came here because she has something to check with you, Your Highness.”
Leonard deliberately left out that Rosetta seemed in a bad mood. It was to lift Cihael’s mood for a moment.
As expected, Sihael’s mood, which had been crawling on the floor, soared to the sky in an instant.
A light gleamed inside the eyes that opened wide in surprise. His aura which had been freezing cold a while ago suddenly became as warm as a spring day.
“Why are you saying that now?”
It seems crazy, but even his tone became warm. Leonard frowned at the goosebumps erupting on his skin.
