High Grade Green Tea Transmigrates into a Pitiful Little Girl - Chapter 9
The reason Talented Xu dared to bully Xiao Lan so openly was also because she understood her personality, so she was not worried that she would fight back. Talented Xu herself was also not a favored concubine. However, she had the backing of the most beloved Noble Consort Ruan, so she had always been domineering.
After making the Fifth Princess faint, she was so restless that she couldn’t sleep well at night. Finally, Hong Xiu woke her up, saying, “His Majesty probably doesn’t even know this princess exists. Is Milady worried that she will complain to the Emperor? I’m afraid that as soon as he sees her, His Majesty would be reminded of that idiot son. It’s too late for her to be angry now.”
Talented Xu thought this makes sense!
What was there to worry about? She was just trying to help her get rid of evil spirits. Besides, she didn’t even get to really do anything yet, so that little girl was lucky.
After she came to that conclusion, she finally relaxed and went to sleep. But when she woke up the next day, she still sent Hong Xiu to the side palace to check the situation. As soon as Hong Xiu left the gate though, she was surprised to see Lin Feilu standing in the yard.
Both the side palace and the main hall faced the main gate. There was a pomegranate tree near the entrance of the main hall. Its leaves had fallen following autumn, leaving the branches barren. The morning dew was still in the air. Lin Feilu was standing there alone, dressed in red. Her small face was devoid of expression as she stared unblinkingly at the pomegranate tree.
The morning was already cold and desolate, and Lin Feilu suddenly appeared there without any sound. Hong Xiu was instantly scared stiff. When she came to her senses, a mix of anger and fright overcame her. She raised her voice and said in a displeased voice, “Fifth Princess, what are you doing standing there?”
The little girl didn’t seem to have heard her. In fact, she didn’t seem to have noticed her at all. She only raised her head and kept staring at the tree.
Hong Xiu followed her gaze and looked at the tree devoid of leaves. What was so interesting about it anyway? She couldn’t help asking, “Fifth Princess, what are you looking at?”
Lin Feilu slowly pulled back her gaze and stared at Hong Xiu. Very slowly, a grin formed on her face, and she gently let out a few words “There is someone up there.”
Hearing her words accompanied with that grinning smile, Hong Xiu’s hair immediately stood on end. She glanced at the pomegranate tree with horror, then quickly ran back to the main hall and slammed the door behind her.
Lin Feilu brushed back the fuzzy cut hair on her forehead that had been damp thanks to the mist, then turned back as if nothing had happened.
In the side palace, Yun You was telling Xiao Lan, “The little princess said that she wanted to watch the sunrise. She went to the yard and waited there early in the morning.” Seeing her come back, she smiled and said, “Princess, was the sunrise good?”
Lin Feilu smiled, “It looked good.”
Qing Yan came over carrying a sewing basket. Smiling, she said, “The princess looks beautiful in red, like a little fairy from a New Year picture. Milady’s craftsmanship is also amazing, the clothes she makes are better than those made by professionals.”
Yun You sighed, “Unfortunately, we only got these two satin pieces this year. Just making one set each for the princess and the Sixth Prince and they are already gone. Milady has not been able to wear a new set of clothes for several years.”
Xiao Lan was holding a string in her hand, saying with a loving and gentle smile on her face, “I’m fine. I’m not going out anyway. Lu’er is the one who likes to run around outside. Let’s make her a cloak this year to warm her up.“
While the three were sewing under the autumn sun, Lin Feilu spent her time wandering around, familiarizing with the surroundings. Mingyue Palace was remote and not very big. The outside of the palace wall looked old and dilapidated, its exterior somewhat peeled off and covered with withering vines.
There was a stark difference to Concubine Jing’s grand and lush Zhaoyang Palace that she visited yesterday.
No need to hurry, later on it will all be mine.
That was what Lin Feilu thought.
The people in the main hall were probably still scared stiff; they had not opened their doors since morning. Lin Feilu strolled through Mingyue Palace, ate lunch and drank her medicine, then went out to map a new place.
