Seo-ah opened her status window.

[ Muscle Strength: 19. Mana Recovery: 8. Agility: 12. Defense: 13. Physical Strength: 16. Mental Strength: 20. ]

There was no significant improvement yet since her last session with Yoon Doo-hee. She no longer had a sparring partner, and now that her stats had gone up, her progress seemed relatively slower.

Yoo Ji-an nodded after hearing her list out her stats. “Let’s get them as high as possible before the set date.”

“Yes! On that note, what are your stats, Mr. Yoo Ji-an? At least an estimate…”

“Me? Muscle strength is 8765, mana is 6543…”

“Ah, ah! Okay! I understand!”

He recited the numbers obediently, more so than she thought he would, but she now felt dizzy just by hearing them. Even as a beginner, she knew that 1000 was the limit for A-class hunters, and so anyone whose stats could exceed that were classified as S-class hunters because that meant that they could no longer be measured by the Hunters’ Guild’s measuring instrument.

Therefore, even if two hunters were both S-class, it was possible that their levels varied widely—1001 and 9999, for example.

But even with that in mind, Yoo Ji-an’s stats were incredible.

‘I’m sure not all S-class hunters are on the same level, given that he’s the best in Korea…’

Seo-ah sat down and pondered over those random thoughts.

On the other hand, Yoo Ji-an approached her with something around his arms and legs.

“What are those?”

“Mana controls. They can help you level up your strength. Right now, though, they’ll restrain me enough that I can help you train”

They were actually instruments used to arrest criminal hunters, but he used them for training. When he wore them, he became, on some level, an ordinary person. Only his muscular abilities were left.

“Now, get up. My training methods are a bit rough, but the results are certain. I’ll make sure you don’t fall behind among the other E-class hunters.” He smiled meaningfully.

“Okay, then…” Seo-ah slowly got up, mildly mystified, and then—

Her vision flashed.

When she opened her eyes again, she was flat on the floor and Yoo Ji-an was looking down at her with a troubled expression.

“Oh, was that too strong?”

Three days later, they went to the tutorial gate.

Park Seo-ah and Kang Soo-jung took the Sun Guild’s car to a field on the suburban outskirts of Gyeonggi-do, the place assigned by the Hunters’ Guild.

A blue whirlwind was spinning in the air.

She’d applied to join the raid as soon as word came out, and last night she received the message to gather the next day.

“Eonnie, what kind of training did you do?”

“…Wait, don’t talk.”

Seo-ah popped a red potion bottle open and gulped its contents down. It cost over a hundred gold apiece, but she had hundreds in her inventory, so she wasn’t worried.

Of course, all of those were courtesy of Yoo Ji-an. Not only that, he’d bought her mana potions, various antidotes, and the most expensive armor that E-class hunters could wear.

They were definitely luxuries that Seo-ah could never have dreamed of.

‘But it’s not like I’m getting these things for no reason.’

Obviously, she was very grateful, but she couldn’t help but feel resentful.

“Yeah, I… I was beaten like a dog.”

“Huh? By an S-class hunter?” Kang Soo-jung immediately examined Park Seo-ah’s body carefully, her eyes silently asking how she was still alive.

Seo-ah understood the implication and replied, “Because Mr. Yoo Ji-an wore restraints and adjusted his power to some extent. And… he treated me.”

To be honest, it was really scary.

Instead of letting her use her injuries and soreness as an excuse to rest, he generously fed her with various recovery potions whenever she collapsed. At one point, Song Jin-ho was even called in to heal her, so there was no reason for her to quit.

However, the pains of her body were no match for those of her heart.

Yoo Ji-an had control equipment on both arms and even heavy weights on both legs. Even as an ‘ordinary’ person, he was still one who had mastered martial arts and combat, so while she could at least see his movements, she couldn’t prevent them, nor could she land a blow on him.

“I still envy you, eonnie. I can see you’ve gotten stronger. You definitely look different from before.”
