I Will Return My New Brother - Chapter 210
“I guess I really have to leave Adel with you, Marianne.”
“Sorry?”
“She grows here, and her soil is here too. She’ll feel comfortable here. I will accept her back later when the palace has gotten stable, and there are a lot of Adel’s friends.
“Ah . . .”
I looked down at the pot that suddenly entered my arms.
Was I wrong? It felt like the bud wriggled a bit.
“I guess you can be Adel’s godmother.”
“Aha . . .”
I felt Adel, who had a prince as its father and Young Lady Miller as its godmother, was so great.
I, who was entrusted with a plant godchild even before I could see my nephew, stared at Rany, who was raising her voice to Orion in the distance.
“It’s easy to do the harsh training in the winter only! You have to collect the training equipment for all seasons! And since you have excellent shields, of course you have to pair them with excellent swords! The new blacksmith that my guild acquired this time . . .”
Though I’m not sure, half of the income at the Rocke Merchant Guild might have been covered by the House of Miller alone.

I didn’t know for what reason, but Mom and Lord Duke refrained from going out two days before the banquet and stayed in the mansion.
I was worried that I couldn’t control my expressions, but it wasn’t that hard to face them.
It was a calm daily life, just like a day before the explosion.
Orion made a fuss as he belatedly realized he couldn’t participate in my semi-debutante, but fortunately, I could take care of it by promising I would be with him in my debutante.
“I can get the escort from Jeremy.”
Duke Miller looked like he was sad inside, but he had Mom as his partner anyway.
Jeremy looked a bit nervous, but he maintained a mature attitude.
“Are you nervous?”
“I’m actually a bit reluctant with the Bolton family.”
“Ah.”
That reminds me, he is.
Though it was obvious, Jeremy had not so good memories about them.
“I’m okay. After a few words of greeting, we’ll treat each other as if we don’t exist anyway.”
I felt strange hearing the words.
“It’ll be more uncomfortable to act friendly. It goes the same by standing next to them.”
“Well, you are right.”
When the carriage stopped and I got off, a mansion with a dark exterior entered my sight.
How can they exude such a strong presence?
Not only the outer wall, the front gate was also dark, and the knights standing guard there were wearing black uniforms.
The moment I got off the carriage, they all turned their heads a bit as if they were one body and scanned me.
“. . .”
It felt strange.
None of this mansion had the same atmosphere as that of the Miller family.
Even the door was lackluster, and the hallway was equipped with minimal lighting.
The banquet hall was the most normal.
All the gazes turned to us the moment I entered hand in hand with Jeremy.
The interjections continued on.
Mom, who wore a fancy ivory dress showing her shoulders, was like a human living the world alone.
A diamond necklace shone on her neck.
“As expected of Madam . . .”
“Shh, we must change how we call her. Something bad might happen if we recklessly lower her title.”
She, who was smiling widely in the crowd while linking her arms with Lord Duke, looked happy.
Though now I couldn’t be sure if she really was happy or just looked like she was happy.

The Crown Prince had yet to arrive, so everyone was familiarizing with each other.
Jeremy and I got away from the crowd greeting each other and moistened my throat slightly.
“Long time no see.”
I turned my head to the familiar voice.
I saw a face looking at me with a displeased expression.
“Sir Gramia.”
I reflexively bent my knee and greeted him.
The faded silver hair was familiar.
“Your fortune has changed quite a bit since I’ve seen you. No wonder Bertin, that paltry fellow, worked on you.”
A whiff of alcohol made me realize that he was drunk already.
All the guests of honor have yet arrived, but he has drunk alcohol?
If Bertin were the one to do this, he would surely be confined for three months.
I couldn’t understand why this person couldn’t soothe his dissatisfaction against Bertin when he had a lot of his wrongdoings brushed aside for the reason that he was the oldest son.
“It seems like you can’t see who’s next to me, Sir.”
His gaze finally turned to Jeremy, who was calmly drinking juice next to me.
Even though he was a lout, he was not in a position to insist on the Imperial family.
“Greetings, Prince. I am Marco Gramia.”
Jeremy nodded to the greeting said in a hurry, then looked at me with a curious look.
“That’s right. He’s Bertin’s older brother.”
I said it in a whisper, but as if he heard it, he crumpled his face.
The older brother, who had a distinguished little brother, scowled at me with a gaze full of a sense of inferiority.
What he hated to hear the most was probably the ‘Bertin’s older brother’ modifier.
Then, when he was about to open his mouth.
“Mother’s looking for you, brother.”
A soft voice cut in between us.
His face looking at Bertin was tense.
“You . . .”
As soon as the man, who seemed to be about to curse, turned around, Bertin approached me.
“Long time no see.”
The gentle voice greeted me.
Along with his appearance, the eyes stealing glance this way increased.
Looking at me glancing around, he asked.
“If you’re uncomfortable with the gazes, shall I move?”
“No, it’s fine. Stay here.”
Hearing my calm voice, he looked at me as if it was unexpected.
I was just worried that Rany, who should have appeared by now, did not show up.
If Bertin was next to me, no doubt . . .
“Marianne!”
Ten seconds would be enough.
