Merce gulped down her saliva.

Of course, she vaguely thought Lulu would be good at something. As a parent, she should help her child achieve his or her dream by finding what he or she is good at.

Her mind went round and round and round.

She never thought Lulu would have such a talent.

She was reading a book that adults could read!

Of course, she thought she could just pass it on, so she looked carefully.

I was reading a book, so I didn’t know my mom and Gerald came. Gerald smiled and shyly held out what was in his hand.

It was something to charm me.

“Can I sit next to you?” Gerald asked shyly.

My mother was looking at me with anticipated eyes. She looked excited for some reason . . . What happened?

“What’s inside it?”

“Cake. Cream cake.”

“. . . Okay.”

The books piled up next to me were swept away. It meant that I wanted Gerald to sit down.

Gerald, with his cheeks flushed, sat next to me.

“Oh my . . . ! It’s so nice to see you so close! Adorable kids! So as you know, mom is busy, so she has to go! Louella! You have to read a lot. Read a lot of books . . . Okay?”

My mom looked weird today. Did something happen?

I tilted his head and waved to my mother.

“Yes!”

“Don’t fight? Okay?”

“Lulu is not a child. We’re not going to fight.”

My mother covered her mouth with her hands.

“What’s wrong with my mom?” I asked. “Gerald, do you know?”

I looked at Jeje and he shook his head. It means I don’t know.

Anyway, my mom turned around and checked us several times and left the library.

I don’t know why, but I feel bad because she seemed to be so thrilled . . .

Gerald unboxed and handed me a cake while I was pondering.

“Oh, eat this, Lulu.”

“Oh.”

I opened my mouth naturally without realizing it.

It was not until I smelled the lingering scent of whipped cream that spread sweetly in my mouth that I realized he had just fed me.

It wasn’t supposed to be like this! We weren’t supposed to be this friendly.

His ears were red.

When he was young, he also showed such innocence in revealing his emotions. Actually, his reddening face and earlobes were showing his true emotions.

Well, what can I do if I already ate it?

He used to feed me food like this when I was sick. Then he said, with a beautiful face full of worries. “Don’t be sick. If you’re sick, I can’t do anything.”

It was definitely love. Was it just the type of love that felt like I was looking at my brother?

I stared at him with a strange expression. It was as if I didn’t know him anymore since I went back in time.

At the age of thirty, I was exhausted by him to the point of not wanting to see him. No matter what sweet words he said, or even if he comforted me affectionately, it was as if he did it like he had no choice. He looked crooked in my eyes.
