I’m Trapped in a Bloody Reverse Harem Game - Chapter 34
“Haniel.”
Indeed, just like the Pope said, Ardal was standing where the obelisk is. He was fixing up the knights’ display with a calm face. His cold expression had a hint of fatigue, giving off a strangely decadent atmosphere.
I was thinking of giving Ardal a strength recovery potion if he had a hard time, but I quietly put away the potion I took out.
His cold face seemed to not have shown any weakness, but his face was darkened by fatigue; nevertheless, there was a strange charm that was different from usual. I wanted to appreciate this rare state a little more.
Let’s look a little more. I’ll give you the potion later.
As soon as Ardal found me, he came straight to me.
“The sun is strong. If you came here to watch the inspection, sit in the shade over there…”
He wrapped the long cloak around his arm and shaded it over my head. The sunlight that stung my eyes disappeared as the dark shadow descended. Unlike the hot air, a cool scent emanated from Ardal.
Seeing him not break a drop of sweat, he smiled lightly, but heard a voice full of annoyance from behind. Behind Ardal, someone similar to Ardal’s size could be seen.
Dark gray and blue eyes. He was a stout man wearing a black uniform instead of the white uniform worn by the Holy Knights.
“I understand that outsiders are not allowed to enter during the preparation of the coronation ceremony, but who are you? An outsider?”
“I’m not an outsider.”
“Looking at your attire, you’re neither a knight nor a monk, but unless she’s an outsider…”
“Don’t be rude. She’s the saintess.”
[Target character discovered!]
[Face the Imperial Knight ‘Dion’.]
[Dion’s favorability will decrease slightly!]
I heard a familiar voice, but eventually, the favorability window appeared.
[Imperial Knight ‘Dion’ Difficulty Level: ★★★★]
That damn difficulty level.
Dion started off by reducing his favorability as much as possible. Even now, seeing his demeaning behavior as soon as I met him, I escaped from the shade Ardal created.
After encountering the Grand Duke, his favorability dropped significantly, so now I need to be more aware if there are more favorability drops. After confirming his favorability drop, I asked Ardal.
“Ardal, who is this?”
“He is from the Empire. Haniel, he will guide you when you go there.”
“It looks like you’re helping with the preparations.”
“Yes.”
I smiled softly and held out my hand to Dion.
Dion was a noble knight. He hated the fact that I was not of noble origins since he hated filthy, inelegant things.
“Nice to meet you, Sir Dion. I am Haniel.”
“…Forgive me for my rudeness, My Lady.”
“I don’t like being called a lady. I’d ask you to call me a saint, but for now, please just call me Haniel.”
“I will… Haniel.”
Unlike Ardal, who politely used honorific titles, Dion simply called me Haniel and kissed the back of my hand. Watching Dion’s lips not touch the back of my hand, I raised a corner of my mouth.
Right, I guess he looks offended.
Still, unlike the last run, his favorability didn’t drop that much for our first meeting.
Just thinking about the Grand Duke reminded me of his favorability, so I had to close the window.
[Dion’s favorability decreased!]
[Dion’s favorability has drastically decreased!]
[Dion’s favorability has slightly decreased!]
The decline continued. It seemed Dion hated me even if I took a breath.
I’m glad you let me breathe, I guess.
I smiled and met his blue eyes. When Dion saw me, he grimaced and turned away.
At his rudeness, Ardal’s right arm twitched under my left. Feeling his arm muscles tighten, I quickly tightened my grip on Ardal.
“Ardal.”
“…Yes?”
“I’ll sit over there while you get ready. After rehearsal, how about we go back together and have a meal?”
“Alright.”
Ardal stopped himself from getting angry. Dion glanced at our actions and stared at the knights’ movements, as if he had no interest.
[Dion’s favorability decreased slightly.]
No, I’ll correct it.
It’s not that I wasn’t interested, but I was steadily lowering his favorability for a reason.
***
Dion’s eyes lit up as he watched the paladins coordinate their movement under Ardal’s command. Ardal was famous in the Empire.
A brilliant and skilled paladin. He was a knight that was widely known to not give into the temptations of the world.
‘Looks like he’s given in.’
It was undeniable that he was smart and talented. However, the rumor that he did not give into temptation was wrong after immediately noticing the appearance of the so-called saintess.
It was obvious that the man had affection for her as he approached the woman named Haniel and used his cloak to shade her. That wasn’t the kind of affection a paladin would have on a saint. It was the kind of affection a man would have for a woman.
