Jiang Xiaoman hurriedly called Yu Qingshi and asked him if he was happy.

Yu Qingshi, on the other end of the line, was silent for a long, long, long time.

“Are you not happy?” Jiang Xiaoman asked him.

Yu Qingshi said, “I-I want to skip a grade. I want to go to the senior class. We might not share the same table. I will go tell my father now.”

“Your father was the one who arranged it.” Jiang Xiaoman’s soft milky voice was shaking from her sheer excitement.

Yu Qingshi pursed his lips, and for the first time, he felt like crying, but no tears came out. He blinked and didn’t know what to say. He only felt sad.

He was afraid that he would not escape this little devil’s oppression in the future.

After robbing his closet, would she rob his school desk in the future?

“Good morning, Jiang Xiaoman,” Yu Qingshi said. “Where is your uncle? Why are you here alone?”

“He is talking to the teacher to register me.” Her voice shook involuntarily.

It was the first day of school. Maybe because it was too early, there were not a lot of people. Children didn’t usually arrive at the kindergarten on time. Generally speaking, if the teacher said that class started at 8 o’clock, there would still be some who had not arrived by 8:30.

Grandma said that every child who went to school had to hold green onions in one hand and water chestnuts in the other, representing smartness and cleverness¹.

Studying under Teacher Tang didn’t count. This time, she was officially entering school, so grandma had her bring all of them to study well and become smart.

Jiang Xiaoman felt that this was very stupid and didn’t want to, but grandma said that all the other children were doing this. There was no other way since all the children in the world were the same, so she could only be obedient.

But who would’ve thought? The first child she met, Yu Qingshi, brought neither green onions nor water chestnuts.

“What…what are you doing with the green onions?” Sure enough, this green onion caught his attention.

Jiang Xiaoman panicked.

Maybe the other children didn’t bring green onions, and they wouldn’t want to be friends with her anymore!

Jiang Xiaoman pursed her lips, and she just wanted to cry, but suddenly she had a flash of genius and stuffed the green onions into his hand, saying, “I brought you breakfast. Hurry up and eat them.”
