Little Terrified Bun - Chapter 36
Wei Jing, who previously wanted to buy a few of the paintings but didn’t know which to buy, suddenly had an idea.
He found the manager in charge of the section and told him that he wanted to buy the painting with the girl in the straw hat.
The manager shook his head apologetically after acknowledging which painting he was referring to. “Sorry, the paintings in this section are not for sale, only for people to enjoy.” That was why they were placed in such a remote corner. The manager then started to promote the other paintings, “The ink wash paintings outside are all very nice. Do you have anything else that you like? I’ll pack it up for you.”
“It’s fine.” Wei Jing shook his head. Having seen the better paintings, he lost his interest in the ones outside. “I only like this one.”
The manager let out a sigh. “Then I really can’t help you with that.”
But he could also understand. Children like bright and colorful things after all.
Having interacted with each other the entire morning, Wei Jing, Wei Min, and Lu Tianyou’s relationship had gotten closer. The three of them chatted on the lunch table naturally, and after lunch, Wei Min said that he wanted to go to the amusement park with his older cousin, and asked Wei Jing if he wanted to go with them.
Wei Jing didn’t have much interest in it, so he shook his head and told them that he wanted to continue at the art exhibition.
“Then there’s no solution.” Wei Min let out a sigh, he really didn’t want to go to suffer again. Not only could he not speak loud, there was also nowhere for him to play. There were only paintings, and the last few paintings were the only ones that were decent, what was there to see in the others?
“Go to the amusement park, just you two?” Wei Jing furrowed his brow.
“Yeah! Why not?” Wei Min was baffled.
Unlike an art exhibition, the amusement park will not be quiet, there are people everywhere. Wei Jing heard that some people even kept watch there just waiting for careless parents to leave their children alone to buy things, and the bad guys would go kidnap the kids. Those people have partners waiting outside to coordinate with them. It was very easy for things to happen with even the slightest inattention.
Lu Tianyou was only fifteen or sixteen, still young, not even mentioning Wei Min, who was merely a six year old tiny thing. It would be too dangerous.
Wei Jing considered for a while and said, “Uncle Li, I’ll have to trouble you to take care of Wei Min in the afternoon. I’ll stay inside the art exhibition, and after they finish playing, you can come to pick me up.”
“How will this work? You’re in more danger alone.” Uncle Li disagreed.
“Don’t worry, there are cameras everywhere in the art exhibition. I’ll only stay inside, I won’t go out. If I don’t go out, there won’t be any danger.” Wei Jing added, “Just rest assured, I’ll take good care of myself.”
Before Uncle Li could say anything, the silent Lu Tianyou suddenly spoke with a smile that revealed his two cute canine teeth, “Then we will have to trouble Uncle Li to take care of us in the afternoon. My little cousin is too active, I was anxious about being able to handle him alone.”
Upon seeing the situation, Uncle Li can only let out a helpless sigh. Before leaving, he delivered Wei Jing to the art exhibition and exhorted him patiently not to leave until he came to pick him up later.
Wei Jing knew that Uncle Li was caring for him, so he naturally nodded obediently and listened attentively.
The art exhibition wasn’t any different than before, and Wei Jing continued down the aisle where he left off to examine the paintings one by one, with endless admiration inside of him. When can an amateur like him create an art piece like this? Hold on…he only drew cute chibi characters, what was there to compare with a master, wasn’t he just looking to be oppressed?
“Wei Xiaojing.” With a loud and joyful shout, a figure threw himself toward Wei Jing. The yellow-haired and delinquent-looking child hung onto Wei Jing intimately. “Why are you here? Did you know earlier that I would come here today, so you came specifically to find me?”
“What?” Wei Jing responded while pushing the child away using his strength. “Xu Jiahui, get off quickly, you’re about to squish me to death.”
No matter how old he was mentally, his body was still a young and fragile child!
“Ohoh! I’m sorry.” Xu Jiahui loosened his grip, his white and soft little face full of delight and his eyes beaming as if he was saying ‘I didn’t know that you care so much about me~ so happy.’
“Why are you here?” Wei Jing looked at him bemused. Xu Jiahui didn’t look like someone who liked art.
“Ei! Aren’t you to find me?” Xu Jiahui suddenly became disappointed and puffed up his cheeks to show his anger. “This is my dad’s art exhibition, of course I’m here! Although I am also annoyed about attending, but for my mother, I will grudgingly show a bit of support then.”
What a little arrogant child! Wei Jing commented to himself.
Wait!! Dad! Xu Jiaming, Xu Jiahui…the child’s eyes suddenly widened indefinitely. With that being said, the person whom he exclaimed about earlier, Xu Jiaming’s son who sacrificed at a young age, was his elementary classmate??
