Little Terrified Bun - Chapter 95
As Wei Zhe overcame his period of hesitation, he became more joyful, feeding his younger brother everyday with some hugs, kisses, and lifts along the way.
It was Wei Jing’s turn to hesitate. Whenever he thought about Wei Zhe finding a wife who would go through everything with him in the future, Wei Jing’s nose started to get stuffy and he began to feel jealous. With an ‘enjoy while it lasts’ mentality, the younger teenager was unusually obedient, and always stuck behind the teenager’s back like a tail.
Of course Wei Zhe enjoyed it; he enjoyed Wei Jing’s childish possessiveness, even if it was just brotherly love.
One willing to give punishment and the other willing to suffer, seemed pretty harmonious.
After some days, Wei Jing received the school’s notice to attend the teen art competition in the neighboring City S. He said farewell to his big brother sadly, and boarded the train accompanied by his teacher.
Secretary Xu couldn’t help but exclaim upon seeing the scene. “Boss, you’re so close with the little boss.”
Wei Zhe glanced over at the man with a ‘duh’ look and answered reservedly, “Of course.”
Secretary, “…”
His fault, his blame to take.
The final was being held on a large platform; the host would provide the canvas, paint, and other materials. There would be some television stations coming over to film scenes and, after editing, they would publish it on CCTV Children next week.
To ensure students’ optimal performance, the school decided to send them over a day before the competition.
They would live in an express hotel that was booked in advance, with three rooms.
Wei Jing would be living with Le Chen in one room, the two male teachers who are supervising the children will share one room, and Xia Susu would live by herself in the single room.
That night, the two teachers brought the three of them to a nearby hotel and had a nice meal. They especially cared for Wei Jing, telling him not to have stage fright from the cameras, just act how he would usually act, and to smile if he didn’t know what to say or do.
Wei Jing got into the final being second place at a young age, so the television stations would definitely interview him.
Wei Jing’s mind was filled with his big brother, absentminded about what the teachers said. He nodded and “mn”-ed constantly. Who knew if he had really heard them clearly.
The two teachers only took his behavior as shyness, so they just patted the small teenager’s shoulder encouragingly and said, “Good luck”, then soon changed the subject to not give him any additional pressure.
The five of them hailed a taxi and returned to the hotel after enjoying a nice meal.
Wei Jing walked slowly, as he had things on his mind. Seeing this, Le Chen, who stood beside him, also slowed down subconsciously.
“Did you hear about it? One of our judges just turned eighteen this year.” Le Chen muttered in a low voice, “I think he’s the apprentice of some master, the one who’s well-known for watercolor.”
Wei Jing blinked. “Master Xu Jiahui?”
“Right! It’s him.” Le Chen couldn’t think of his name after contemplating for so long. He turned to Wei Jing and asked curiously, “You heard of him? Makes sense, he’s a popular master now after all…”
“Wait, what did you just say? An especially young judge? Master Xu’s apprentice?” Wei Jing asked.
“En.” Le Chen nodded. “Although that person is young, he does have the skills. I saw his paintings, they were very…spiritual. So don’t take it to heart, I’m sure you will be like him after a couple more years.” He added upon seeing Wei Jing’s excitement.
Le Chen comforted him, as he thought Wei Jing became jealous.
Wei Jing couldn’t help but smile while shaking his head. “What are you thinking?” He added speechlessly. He continued reluctantly while touching his nose. “I never told you before, but the master who taught me since I was young was Master Xu. If I’m right, that person…should be my senior.”
Le Chen’s face was filled with bewilderment.
He looked at the small teenager’s cat-like eyes that curved slightly upwards, the curly and dark eyelashes, and the innocent expression on the delicate face…Le Chen suddenly felt his fist itching to give Wei Jing a punch.
“How come you never told us before?” Le Chen complained. He knew his complaint might be random, but he couldn’t hold it back.
“Sorry.” Wei Jing peeked at Le Chen helplessly and said in a low voice, “I couldn’t just tell you upfront that I’m Master Xu’s apprentice. Wouldn’t that be weird? As if…I’m showing off?”
“Fine! I forgive you.” Le Chen’s tightly pressed lips turned into a faint smile, his facial features becoming more gentle.
The two of them walked back to their room as they continued to talk. Their clean and tidy double room had decent amenities. While Le Chen went to take shower, Wei Jing took out his phone and called his big brother.
