Ye Mu was a little embarrassed as she looked down at her skirt. She remembered what she had eavesdropped on and quickly told Mo Linyuan what she had heard.

Mo Linyuan listened to her intently. Right then Ye Mu became aware that she was acting like a child seeking approval!

After she finished reporting her findings, Ye Mu looked up and asked, “I don’t think Zhao Mingyu is the type of woman to act recklessly for love… Just what is her reason for wanting to stay and get married to you?”

Mo Linyuan replied, “It isn’t hard to guess why.”

He took Ye Mu’s hand and guided her to sit with him on the dragon’s seat. He then guided her to sit on his lap.

“You probably are not aware of the current situation in Zhao Country. Let me explain to you so that you can understand what is going on.”

Ye Mu was intrigued by his words. Therefore, she sat obediently on his leg.

Mo Linyuan held a hint of a smile in his eyes. Evidently, little Mu’er still hadn’t noticed, but she was starting to get used to his touches.

He stated, “What Zhao Mingyu said before was only half of the truth. Although she is the daughter of a concubine, because she is highly favored and held a significant status in the Zhao Country, she was equivalent to a prince in the palace.”

Ye Mu asked in bewilderment, “If she held such a high status, why is she in this arranged marriage?”

Mo Linyuan soothingly stroked her long hair with his hand, “I don’t know the specific reason. But this arranged marriage was definitely something she initiated.”

Mo Linyuan’s phoenix eyes narrowed, before he laughingly replied, “The City Boundary Map was also something she asked her father, the emperor, to find for her. So what exactly is she trying to achieve?”

Hearing this, Ye Mu found it strange. As she tried to decipher the truth, she reiterated,

“You just said that, her status was equivalent to that of a prince in Zhao Country…”

Mo Linyuan nodded.

“You also said that she was searching for the City Boundary Map… That could only mean, she knew early on that you were looking for the map…”

Mo Linyuan didn’t reply and simply smiled.

Ye Mu bit her lower lip and scrunched her brows, “That could only mean, you possess something that she wants. That’s why she is willingly giving up her higher status in Zhao Country to engage in this arranged marriage proposal… That way, she can acquire the thing that is even more valuable than a highly valued princess status… and that could only be the Empress status and the other pieces of the City Boundary Map!”

Mo Linyuan didn’t interrupt her as Ye Mu continued to guess.

“She probably prepared two strategies: the first option would be to seduce you and become the Empress of Mo Country. But, she has never met you before so she doesn’t have complete confidence in achieving this, so she would have another plan prepared…”

“The second option would be, after she got married, and you have obtained the whole City Boundary Map, you would then seek out the treasures… She would then try to contribute to the discovery of the treasures and win your trust that way… She would then be able to possess the treasure…”

Mo Linyuan smiled smugly, “Smart little Mu’er. But what she wants, is much more than that…”

“Huh?” Ye Mu looked over at him. But what she saw was his deep endless pupils that would cause other’s hearts to palpate.

“It is nothing you have to be concerned about. What you need to worry about is eating more and growing up faster!”

With that said, Mo Linyuan leaned forward and embraced Ye Mu. She then took notice that the food had arrived and was already laid out. The dining room table was filled to the brim with dishes and wine… But, to have him hug her like while she ate, was just too embarrassing!
