Raised by Monster Royalty - Chapter 17.1
Three in one (1)
The atmosphere became incredibly awkward. Even the talkative Erte, at this moment, fell into silence, looking bewildered like a first-grader.
Indeed, he was.
Feeling overwhelmed, Xiang Fei closed his eyes, tears streaming down his cheeks. “I didn’t see anything… sob…”
“No,” Erte sincerely said, “You saw it, and I saw it too.”
Mu Le: “…”
“…I’m sorry,” Erte apologized earnestly to her, “Did you do that because you’re afraid of being mocked by other dragons?”
His eyes started to well up with tears as well, showing a mixture of remorse and genuine sympathy when looking at Mu Le.
The two kids surrounded her as if she were the most pitiful little dragon in the whole world.
Mu Le had a hard time holding back her laughter.
She tightly pursed her lips, suppressing the urge to smile, and pretended to speak seriously to the two of them. “You may not know, but dragons have a horn-shedding period.”
What a nonsense.
It was something she made up.
Some animals do go through a horn-shedding period, though.
“I’m just going through that period recently,” Mu Le adjusted her dragon horns, “Now, the three of us must become friends.”
Erte: “…?”
Xiang Fei: “Sob sob sob…”
“You have to help me keep this a secret,” Mu Le said, “We are friends with a shared secret now.”
Erte widened his eyes and nodded vigorously. “So that means we’re best friends!”
Mu Le: “…?”
Xiang Fei: “QAQ?”
Erte became even happier. “I have many friends, but I don’t have a best friend yet!”
Mu Le: “…”
Now she was really curious about the alligator’s special talent.
If being exceptionally silly could also be considered a special talent, then she wouldn’t be so perplexed.
Erte wiped away the tiny bit of tears and held Mu Le’s hand, feeling moved as if they were long-lost relatives reunited.
Mu Le: “…” So these are alligator tears.
The three kids inexplicably became best friends.
Erte was the happiest, and even though Xiang Fei still seemed a bit teary-eyed, he actually looked quite delighted.
Mu Le: “…”
What else could she do with her silly classmates besides indulging them?
They continued on their original path and walked out of the classroom building.
Not a single person noticed that as they descended the stairs, there was someone still standing at the stairwell.
This person was tall and watched the three kids walk away, swaying their furry tail. Their green eyes focused on Mu Le, and they let out a soft laugh.
…
Erte didn’t have anyone to pick him up; his house was nearby, so e happily ran home by himself.
Before leaving, he made an agreement with Xiang Fei and Mu Le to discuss the “three-person secret” in the afternoon when they met again.
Mu Le: “…Okay.”
Once he left, only Mu Le and Xiang Fei remained.
Their parents hadn’t arrived yet. Mu Le looked at Xiang Fei with teary eyes and couldn’t help but comfort him. “You really don’t have to be afraid. Everyone here is a good person.”
“Whu…hic!” Xiang Fei seemed like he wanted to say something, opened his mouth, but unexpectedly let out a hiccup.
Xiang Fei: “…”
He simply closed his mouth and stopped talking.
Mu Le couldn’t do anything either. She tiptoed, wanting to pat Xiang Fei’s head. This kid behaved well when Teacher Bai Yan patted his head, and his tears stopped a bit.
But she was just too short.
Even if she stretched her arms and tiptoed, she still couldn’t reach Xiang Fei’s head.
She could only pat the long trunk of this little elephant.
Xiang Fei forgot about crying and looked at her foolishly.
It really resembled a baby elephant being embraced by its mother in the animal world.
Mu Le couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
Just as she burst into laughter, she heard a somewhat deep voice next to her say, “Lele?”
Mu Le paused and turned around.
She saw a young man standing behind her, with a pair of dragon horns on his head. He wasn’t Gu Mingyuan, but he looked so much like him!
Calling him a young man might not be accurate.
Because this young man was even taller than Xiang Fei.
Estimated to be around 1.8 meters tall.
He seemed to be somewhere between a young boy and a young adult.
“Your classmate?” He smiled and glanced at Xiang Fei. “You seem to have a good relationship.”
Mu Le: “…”
Why does this kid talk in such a peculiar way?
She retracted her hand from patting Xiang Fei and asked the young man, “Who are you?”
“Gu Mingzhou.” He casually replied, “My brother asked me to take you out for a meal.”
Mu Le suddenly understood, “Ah, it’s you.”
So he was Gu Mingyuan’s younger brother.
He looked quite similar to Gu Mingyuan, but he appeared more youthful, with a touch of aggression between his brows.
Definitely going through the rebellious phase.
Mu Le was about to say something when she suddenly noticed that something seemed off with the little elephant by her side.
Xiang Fei couldn’t speak, not even cry.
He bit his lips, tears welled up in his eyes, and he didn’t dare to look into Gu Mingzhou’s eyes, keeping his head lowered and motionless.
Mu Le asked him, “Xiaoxi, what’s wrong?”
Xiang Fei was trembling.
“Scared, huh?” Gu Mingzhou responded nonchalantly. “It’s normal. Just ignore him.”
Mu Le looked at him displeased.
Gu Mingyuan sneered, “And you, even a little elephant doesn’t intimidate you. How dare you stand here as a dragon?”
His expression carried a hint of teasing, clearly aware of Mu Le’s true identity and deliberately mocking her.
“Is that so?” Mu Le innocently blinked at him. “I’m not scared of you either. Is it because you’re useless and unworthy of being a dragon?”
Gu Mingzhou: “…………”
