Extra 1: Living Together Part 2 (3)

Ruan Qingmu’s body leaned back in panic and his dark wheat-colored healthy complexion was permeated with red. What special times… He was done for. Qin Yuan had been all kinds of wrong tonight.

His mind was getting flustered, so he suddenly pushed Qin Yuan away. “Hold on! I’ll let you see other things!”

He turned his head, leaned on the table, picked out two more things from the pile on the table as if offering a treasure, and handed them to Qin Yuan. “I picked this little stone from when we trained on the mountaintop. Look, doesn’t it look like a heart? A licking dog* in my dorm wanted to spend money and buy it from me, saying he wanted to send it to his crush. But in the end, I didn’t sell it to him.”

*T/N: Licking dog: a person who knows that the other person does not like him or her, but still persists in trying to satisfy him or her without any dignity or boundaries.

Qin Yuan suppressed the surging blood in his chest, gritted his teeth, and reached out to take it over. After a long time, his expression softened a bit. “It seems a bit similar.”

Ruan Qingmu giggled, picking up another pretty little snail shell. “I got this one when I went down to the pond. Once on a field trip, the instructor lied to us and said he would take us to play in the water but ended up pulling us by the truckload to a lotus root pond in the nearby countryside. We helped the old folks clear the dredges for a whole day.”

He smiled with delight and was eager to share all the funny and memorable things. “After a day, the team had stinking mud all over their faces and bodies. Only our eyes were revealed and we couldn’t recognize each other even once we were face-to-face… hahaha.”

Qin Yuan fondled the small, round snail shell. “Were there leeches?”

“There’s none, but there were loaches.” Ruan Qingmu laughed. “Several swam beside everyone’s feet. Someone was scared senseless and shouted madly, ‘There are snakes, ahhh. Help!’”

Qin Yuan looked at him, suddenly looking slightly peculiar. He asked softly, “Snakes? A poisonous one or not?”

Ruan Qingmu suddenly choked and stared at him in a daze.

Qin Yuan unhurriedly touched his neck, pulled off the necktie, casually threw it onto the chair, and began unbuttoning the shirt on his chest.

Soon, the dark blue slim-fit shirt came off, revealing the pure white tank top inside, broad shoulders and thin waist, strong and fit, with a little bright red triangular birthmark on his chest.

He stretched out his slender fingers and faintly touched the birthmark himself. “After being bitten, would it leave a scar like this?”

Ruan Qingmu appeared frozen in place, staring at his chest with a fixed gaze, and his breathing increased a little. He suddenly reached out and roughly pulled Qin Yuan closer before lowering his head.

He kissed the birthmark where the viper bite mark was with force.

“No, if you want to leave such a deep mark, you have to suck with force,” he said vaguely.

The dishes were knocked off the table and dropped onto the wooden floor with a muffled, not-so-subtle thud.

“Don’t mind it.” Qin Yuan pinned Ruan Qingmu, who was startled and trying to look up, and tugged him impatiently, stumbling toward the bedroom.

The two young figures were tangled together, and it was impossible to tell who was more agitated, who was more impatient, who was more nostalgic, and who was more desperate.

The curtains in the bedroom were already drawn, so Qin Yuan casually flicked the switch, and the gentle, low-degree lamp lit up and gave the spacious, neat double bed an ambiguous warmth.

Their heavy bodies pressed down and collapsed onto the snow-white mattress. The sound of suppressed gasps went on and off, and pieces of clothing were thrown down in disarray on the small square of wool rug next to the bed.

Someone reached out and pressed out the lamp again. Only Qin Yuan’s hoarse voice could be heard in the endless night. “When I was poisoned by a viper, was it you who helped me to suck it out? For how long were you doing it?”

No answer could be heard from Ruan Qingmu and only a sharp, muffled grunt could be heard. “Fuck… If you remember, then remember it. Forget it if you don’t remember. Don’t ask me!”

“You’re swearing again.” Qin Yuan’s patient voice seemed calm, but it was getting hoarse. “… But I love listening to it.”

Ruan Qingmu tilted his head back and suddenly grabbed his shoulders hard, his voice trembling with fury. “Only listening? Are you fucking capable of doing it?”

In front of him, Qin Yuan stopped kissing and lifted his head.

The sweat on his forehead fell and dripped onto Ruan Qingmu’s face, and his eyes looked dangerous and fiery on his handsome face in the darkness. “I can’t remember. Why don’t you repeat the action once more and help me find my memory?”

Ruan Qingmu clenched his teeth in a daze. “The hell with redoing it! You aren’t even poisoned! Sucking what, ah–”

As soon as he finished speaking, he suddenly let out a shriek and his voice was stuck in his throat in shame and anger, just like a small fish that had lost its water and landed on the shore, opening its mouth and struggling in vain for a few times.

Qin Yuan’s figure retreated backward, hiding out of sight. After a long time, only his hoarse voice could be heard like a whisper. “No problem. I remember how you do it… I will return it to you now.”

The curtains fluttered slightly with the evening breeze, swirling and roiling, loving and gentle.

In a strange city with no one around, a new life began this late summer night and the two people’s intimate lives slowly started.
