Valérez was completely flustered and didn’t respond to me.

The clothes I wore instead of maid clothes and dresses were white shirts that servants liked to wear. The thin summer fabric of the shirt was soaking wet and clung to my body as if I wasn’t wearing a top at all.

I stared at Valérez, who didn’t respond to my question.

“Oh, Mr. Mallorca is passing by!”

Mallorca’s shadow wasn’t even in sight. Valérez must be more sensitive than I am, and his face twisted without noticing that I lied.
