The Helper, whom I grabbed by the collar, touched his lips with a troubled face. Now, under his deep hat, his pretty face caught my eye.

“If you threw a person into the game, shouldn’t you explain it properly?”

Just as he was about to open his mouth to answer my question, Lucas interrupted, “Who is this bastard that you wanted to see again? Is he your hidden lover?”

I glanced at Lucas’ distorted face and swept it down with one hand.

“No, it’s not like that, so get out of the way.”

Curtis licked his lips with an embarrassed expression, as if he felt awkward to see me being unwelcoming to him.

“…I have some business to do.”

“I see. Then go ahead and do your business.”

I nodded my head awkwardly at his vague answer. Considering he completely ruined the Valérez route, I can’t really find myself to treat him nicely.

I looked at his face, which seemed a bit thin, recalling the last time I saw him was when I was beating Jian in front of him.

‘Hmm? But why did my likeability go up while I wasn’t seeing him?’

It was strange. The noble Curtis should’ve lost affection for me for assaulting Jian recklessly. My eyes widened at the likeability gauge that shone above Curtis’ head.

Moreover, 57% was quite high. In <Experience! Life>, if the character’s likeability exceeded 89%, they’d usually start to express their feelings like normal men in love.

‘If it’s 57%… It should at least be a little something.’

“You.”

But Curtis’ face as he looked at me was unbelievably cold that it was hard to believe the likeability gauge was more than half full.

“Why are you here. Hasn’t your mine been closed?”

“What?”

‘Did Edith have a mine?!’

If there was such a good thing, I should’ve been told about it right away…!

“Do I have a mine?”

My eyes widened at Curtis’ words. He bit the inside of his cheek as my eyes grew bigger by the second.

“Did you forget because you were too young?”

As I pondered Edith’s past through his words, I could recall memories of playing in a dark and cramped cave. I just thought it had been a cave in the woods near the mansion, but it never crossed my mind that it could’ve been a mine.

“When you were young, Ruby was quite popular. It’s closed now because it ran dry.”

Curtis reached out his hand to me as he explained calmly.

“I can guide you if you want.”

I nodded, looking down at the straight and crisp white gloves that reflected his personality.

“Lucas, Rian. Wait here…”

I turned around but only Lucas stood still and I couldn’t see Rian.

“Lucas, where’s Rian?”

“I don’t know.”

Lucas merely shrugged his shoulders, saying it was none of his business whether he dies or not, then pointed to a merchant lined up near the mine.
