The Fake Saint of a Reverse Harem Game - Chapter 8.1

Believe it or not, there was a time of tranquility for Edith Abina and Curtis Caballero.

Around the time she was innocent to what an illegitimate child was to an aristocratic family, Edith first encountered Curtis Caballero at the patronage of the marquis.

“Good morning, Young Lady Abina.”

And she fell in love – if I dare to call the feeling of tearing out her young heart instantly and dying it pitch black as love.

“Oh, hello.”

Curtis, who was only a year or two older than Edith, smiled as if the girl that was hesitant in front of a strange boy was cute. Edith was as mesmerized with his pretty smile and dimples as the first time she saw jewelry.

“Oh…”

Curtis watched Edith, who came to her senses belatedly, lift the hem of her dress as how she learned from her etiquette teacher, rather kindly.

Edith with her twisted pigtails being surrounded by the scent of flowers, seemed quite lovely to the boy. She was quite the contrast to his only brother, Theodore, who was immature and smelled badly.

So, although they didn’t feel the same way, they built a small friendship for quite a long time. They had all the time to get close due to the fact that Grand Duke Caballero and the Marquis Abina formed a business alliance around that time and met frequently.

Curtis and Edith were friends even at the time Edith Abina’s biological mother was found to be having an affair.

Then her biological mother died as she was unable to overcome the plague. Edith’s position within their family was compromised, but Curtis and Edith were still friends.

“I’m a half aristocrat. My father might kick me out.”

Curtis calmly consoled Edith as he wiped her tears away, “How could the Marquis throw you away?”

He was a conservative and responsible boy who valued parental duties. Even if they weren’t directly related, it was believed that the Marquis should fulfill his responsibilities as Edith’s stepfather.

“Curtis, you don’t know the extent of what adults can do.”

Soon, Curtis welcomed someone in his family that wasn’t of blood. The bereaved Grand Duke Caballero took in a new Grand Duchess.

Young and beautiful, the Grand Duchess didn’t pay much attention to her husband, who was 20 years older than her. Instead, she pulled the Grand Duke’s son into her bedroom as a toy.

“What is all this? Did you get hurt?”

Edith couldn’t bear to ignore the scratches on Curtis’ body. To a dear friend who was enraged, Curtis, who was young and naïve, confessed to a brutal night that he couldn’t dare to even tell his father.

“Don’t tell anyone. I can’t let Theodore go through this.”

The wicked Grand Duchess seemed to have threatened him. Edith held Curtis’ secret, which was a major flaw to the Grand Duchess.

“…then be my knight.”

“What?”

“Serve as my knight. If you’re a knight with a lady, the Grand Duchess won’t be able to touch you as carelessly.”

‘Wow, I feel sorry for you.’

Falling down as I vomited blood, I dreamed of Edith the whole time I passed out. It was a fragmented memory, as if the film was torn in places, but the memory alone could tell how terrible Edith had been to Curtis.

‘It’s like getting betrayed right away by a trusted friend whom you shared your weakness with, right? I understand why he hates Edith so much.’

With his stepmother’s bullying and Edith’s betrayal, Curtis suffered from severe depression and had a hatred for people. His mental illness was the fault of the Grand Duke as he was the head of the family who ruled a vast territory.

Curtis complied with Edith’s unreasonable demands in order to protect the honor and fulfill his responsibilities as the Grand Duke of Caballero.

And then, the main character would appear and he’d be cured of his ‘illness’.

Of course, as Curtis was the main target character, I had a rough idea of his situation. However, I have never looked at this closely before. His past was just a piece of a bigger piece of information needed to attack.

‘This game, ‘Experience!’. It’s a relief that it’s not a love simulation game like ‘Scenes of Life: The Saint Edition’.’

I didn’t even want to think of dating Curtis knowing of his relationship with Edith because I felt sorry. I sighed, completely forgetting about the erection marks I saw the other day.

“Are you awake already?”

Jian felt my presence awaken, and then approached the bedside lightly.

“Your stamina is very low, Young Lady.”

After examining my complexion, she held my hand without saying a word and began to pour her holy powers.

“Oh, it’s okay!”

Although Jian was a special saint who came from another world, holy power in this world was a finite energy.
