Ever since Luo Shuyan unknowingly found out that Luo Tianyuan had cut ties with Song Wanqing, she lost interest in her father’s love life.

Relationships between men and women were too complicated, and young kids like her simply couldn’t understand.

However, she figured that her father had no intention to get married anytime soon. She couldn’t help but shake her head; her father was the man who caused her birth mother to become pregnant at 19; he had also been very close with Aunty Song, and now she hasn’t seen Aunty Song around.

Whenever Luo Shuyan thought about this, she would talk about it with Shen Yan.

She wanted to tell other girls, however, they were so young, so how could she? Shen Yan was different from them, even though he couldn’t understand certain things, he seemed to be able to chat with her about grown ups.

Shen Yan was happy that Song Wanqing finally stopped coming to annoy their family.

He glanced at Luo Shuyan while carrying his small backpack. He couldn’t help but shake his head, ‘She’s such a dummy’. “Are you hoping that she’d come visit you?”

“Not really. I was just intrigued. I think Aunty Song still likes my father, plus, her maid makes great food.”

“You’re such a gluttonous person, did you starve yourself to death in your previous life?” Shen Yan said, looking annoyed. “Uncle Luo is great at everything, but he has bad taste in women!”

Both women did not like Luo Shuyan!

One wanted Uncle Luo’s attention when Luo Shuyan was sick; another didn’t even spare Luo Shuyan a glance despite saying that she cared about her.

These two women… If Uncle Luo ends up with either one of them, Shen Yan would truly despise Uncle Luo.

Luo Shuyan didn’t like hearing others talk bad about her father. She sighed, “Shut it, my father has great taste.”

“I’m sure you know the truth, so why act ignorant about it,” Shen Yan said, being absolutely brutal about his thoughts.

Luo Shuyan sighed. How should she put it?

She knew that not many people would be kind to the child that their boyfriend had with his ex.

She felt like it was normal for others to not like her. Plus, Aunty Song and Aunty Qin didn’t seem like abusive people either.

But she could tell that Shen Yan seemed concerned about her situation.

With that in mind, Luo Shuyan looked at Shen Yan and said, “I don’t care if they don’t like me. I only need those that I like to like me; for example, my father, Aunty Shen, and you.”

Shen Yan froze and his ears turned red. He unnaturally looked down and said, “I don’t like you!”

Luo Shuyan took everything he’s done for her to heart and knew that Shen Yan wasn’t someone who was naturally caring. She knew that he was truly concerned about her well being.

Aw, but she was definitely mentally more mature than him…

He was still a Primary 1 kid, whereas she was at least in junior high.

She shouldn’t pick on young children. Luo Shuyan smiled and said, “Don’t worry, I’m fine liking you one-sidedly.”

Despite that, he was in a very good mood. The corner of his lips were upturned, and he was very pleased.

Eventhough Luo Shuyan had re-emphasised the fact that since she wasn’t money — she didn’t need everyone to like her, Shen Yan still had a strong dislike towards Song Wanqing and Qin Yutong.

Qin Yutong had gotten her family members to send Luo Tianyuan a parcel. Inside the parcel, there was an international branded shaver for Luo Tianyuan, and also a fashionable coat for Luo Shuyan. Qin Yutong finally understood what she wanted in life; she was nearing thirty, based on her looks and talent, it wasn’t difficult for her to find a high-valued man. However, it was almost impossible to find one that was close to her age; most were already married.

She wasn’t someone who was willing to settle for less either. Other than looks, she also cared about how the man made her feel. If it were not for that, she wouldn’t have been able to withstand the pressure of her parents’ countless marriage proposals.

She didn’t care much about children. In her heart, she knew that the child was innocent. That was why she tried to treat Luo Shuyan better. Yet, every time she saw the child, she was reminded of Xi Yue — the woman who got in her way. If it weren’t for her, she would’ve gotten together with Luo Tianyuan long ago. If only Luo Shuyan wasn’t the child of Xi Yue, it would’ve been easier for her to come to terms with the child’s existence.

Even though Qin Yutong looked like she’d finally matured, she hadn’t. She wasn’t willing to lose Luo Tianyuan again. She could tell that he still had many admirers, just like during their university years. Thus, she figured that she should try to gain his favor through Luo Shuyan. She’d thought things through — After she and Luo Tianyuan get married, Luo Shuyan should be more mature and they might be able to get along. If not, she’ll just send the child to boarding school.

Luo Tianyuan accepted Qin Yutong’s present, but he also paid her for it. Thus, Qin Yutong couldn’t figure out what he meant by that.

Luo Shuyan put on the coat and happily twirled around in it. She’d started taking piano and dance classes recently, and had lost quite a lot of weight due to the exercise. Thus, rather than looking cute, she seemed to be more beautiful.

“So, does it look nice on me?”

The coat was red in color. Luo Shuyan had inherited her fair skin from her mother, so she looked like a porcelain doll in the coat.

Shen Qingruo nodded enthusiastically. “Looks great! Shuyan, you look amazing in red. Miss Qin has exquisite taste.”

Shen Qingruo had met Qin Yutong some time ago when she came to ask for help from Luo Tianyuan.

Shen Yan, who was seated at the sofa and playing with his rubix cube, sighed, before quoting something that he’d heard in the past. “Those who offer unsolicited help must be harboring evil intentions.”

Luo Tianyuan hadn’t told them that he’d paid Qin Yutong for the amount she’d spent on the gift.

Shen Qingruo’s expression immediately changed when she heard that. She reprimanded him in a strict tone. “Shen Yan, when has your mother taught you to talk that way? That’s so impolite. Do you know what you mean when you say that? If you don’t, it’s absolutely foolish of you to say that. And if you do know what it means, its insolent and disgraceful for you to use it to describe others!”

Actually, Shen Yan rarely told her son off. Scolding her son was a rare occurrence. Thus, Shen Yan’s expression also changed after being told off; he looked like he had been wrongly scolded, but he didn’t lower his head either.

He didn’t think that he had done anything wrong.
