Gillian kept grinning, satisfied. Every time he looked at Daniel, he couldn’t help hiding his contentment.

Wrinkling his large, flat face into a broad grin, Gillian rushed to lay Daniel down on the sofa.

The red, leather sofa was inscribed with intricate arcane circles.

“We will begin now, Your Majesty. Please do not be nervous and breathe as normal. Please try not to lose consciousness so that we do not waste such a valuable ingredient.”

Babbling out of excitement, Gillian drew the curtains shut around the sofa, covering Daniel’s sight, and then dragged out the gagged ingredient from the storage room.

Then, he let the ‘ingredient’ stand on the magic circle, which was the same as the ones on the sofa.

This was all in consideration for the weak Daniel.

Daniel Lotti del Brezina was weak-minded from birth.

He was mild-mannered, reserved, and very sensitive. He was a man born unable to even step on a bug.

Emily, the Second Consort, who had her arms folded and was observing the whole situation, loved her son dearly, but truthfully, could not understand him.

She could not even begin to comprehend that that weak of a child came out of her.

Being nice? That’s good. Perhaps if humans were given a choice between good and evil, most of them would choose good. Emily also seconded that.

But the world always belonged to the few who chose evil. Unfair, but it was reality.

So, in order to justify the current situation, she just wanted to lead her beloved son towards a comfortable path and to provide him with the most precious things in the world.

“AAAACK…!”

The day would come to where it’s reminisced as a sweet memory.

He must resent his mother right now, but when the time comes, he will for sure come to understand her and give back to her.

To Emily, Daniel was always an admirable son.

Look at him. Even if he’s writhing and kicking in pain, he’s still staying put on the sofa.

Unable to withstand the pain, Daniel occasionally fainted, but he never ran away nor refused Emily’s orders, not even once.

What a precious child. Around her mouth, Emily’s smile deepened.

It’s almost complete. Whether it’s that incompetent emperor, the stupid First Consort Blake, or the nasty Duke Tanium, the time to get rid of them all was nearing.

And she would become the mother of the great Emperor of the Brezina Empire. A little bit more. Just a little bit more.
