The Villainess Does Not Reflect! - Chapter 5

When I returned to my room, My brother placed me on his  lap, he was looking sad as if he were saying goodbye to me never to meet again. My hands were carefully smeared with perfumed oil by the maids who looked as if they would start crying at any moment, scolding Clive with a smile as he spent a long time trying to comb and braid my hair.

Should I say my previous life rather than my past? Anyway, I think this is how I felt on the morning I left for the Royal Academy in my previous life before my rebirth.

I don’t remember it all, but I remember how I soothed and embraced my brother, who was deliriously sad and lonely, and scolding Clive with a smile, who was tying my hair and carefully sliding his fingers through the perfumed oil on my feet so slowly that it seemed like he would never finish.

“Okay. If Liddy feels that way, that’s fine with me,” my brother smiled elegantly.

I remember that in the past when Rafael had given priority to Cynthia, my older brother and Clive did not blame Rafael, and when I asked him to be my partner for the evening party, he was very happy to do so.

It can’t be helped.

And since they love me, so to speak, they would welcome the breakup of my relationship with Rafael-sama, who is their rival.

I am returning their love equally, but I can’t help their jealousy.

When he pulled away, Clive took my hand and kissed the back of it.

“Forgive me, Lydith-sama. If anything were to happen to you, I would destroy the world. So please take care of yourself so that I may not sin.”

“Clive, I thank you for your courage in breaking your taboo. When I return from my mission, I will give you my blood as a reward.”

“Oh, my goddess….”

“Come on, Clive, I’m counting on you.”

I stepped hard on Clive’s foot as he was about to fall.

He gaped, then shook his head lightly as if regaining his composure before pointing to my feet.

Before I knew it, a glowing magic circle had appeared on the floor at my feet.

The light gradually became stronger. I thought I was being sucked in, and at the same time the door to the room opened with great force.

When I looked at him, he must have been surprised to see the situation in the room through the narrow space of light. I saw Rafael-sama, who was about to rush toward me with an astonished look on his face.

I think I missed him a lot. I liked him because of his gorgeous, shining golden hair and green eyes that reminded me of a lake on a sunny day. I also liked his gentle voice when he called me “Lydith”.

Rafael, the current Rafael-sama, does not know anything about what is to come. I felt sorry for him as he tried to reach out to me.

“Lydith, what the hell is going on here?”

“Rafael-sama….. rest assured. You will soon find someone who will heal your heart. But if you still want me, then wait for my return.”

“Why Lydith… why!…”

I did not take his outstretched hand.

I thought it was pathetic, but I am not one to be carried away by fleeting emotions.

The images of my brother, Clive, the maids, and Master Rafael become blurred and distorted.

My heart pounded. A land of demons means that there are many demons, which means that there must be many people like Clive who can use mysterious powers.

I like special powers. I am sure that in the land of the demons, there must be a lot of people who have something to offer that cannot exist in the other kingdoms.

It is a shame that they are living in a hidden corner of the world.

I smiled without knowing it.
