Why Are You Obsessed With Your Fake Wife? - Chapter 71.2
Immediately after clearing the Monster Wave, the group returned straight to their home base. The carts were loaded with monster remains.
The people in the estate wondered what kind of loot the returning subjugation team brought, but in the end, they could not know what it was.
And so a few days later.
The 15th day after Monster Wave ended.
At the time when the sun rose to the top of the head, a series of people were passing by the bridge connecting to the main house.
It was Nadia and Winterfell’s administrators.
“Leather, horns, and teeth are separated and kept in a cool place. I think we need to go through several drying processes to store meat for a long time.”
“I’ll leave the matter to you. By the way.…”
Nadia, who was listening to the report, tilted her head.
“You look like you have something to say to me.”
“Well, that’s…”
Edward, the administrator, looked really surprised as if he had been caught.
He asked the question he wanted to ask with courage hesitatingly.
It was something that had been bothering him everyday since he heard her business plan.
“Are you serious about making medicine out of monster remains? This is absolutely ridiculous to be able to make drugs out of a monster.”
“Oh, it reminds me of the old days.”
“What?”
Why did Nadia suddenly think about the past?
He looked puzzled when he saw his lord’s wife talking about something else out of the blue.
Nadia continued with a smile.
“When I said I would run a herbal tea business with thorny herbs, everyone reacted similarly to you now.”
“Well, that’s…!”
The administrator stuttered and turned his gaze elsewhere as if he were embarrassed.
It was a little embarrassing, but it wasn’t wrong. Come to think of it, Nadia always took the right decision.
He couldn’t help but wonder why she would make such a wrong one, but somehow, her choice turned out to be the right one.
So she had a plan again this time. The embarrassed-looking administrator replied with a short sigh.
“I guess I asked a silly question. I’m sure Madam has a specific idea.”
“The way to get rid of the monster’s poison is simple. We need some ingredients, but I’m sure we can get them.”
Now they had a lot of money anyway, didn’t they? She added with a shrug.
“I think I need to make a deal with the merchant association to purchase supplies in bulk.”
“Oh, Wayne Marcus of the Northern Merchants Association is coming back soon. I received a letter yesterday.”
Wayne had headed to the capital to dispose of some of the Dragon lair loot at Nadia’s orders.
It seemed that he came back in a timely manner. Nadia said with a nod.
“Good for us. I’ll meet him to get a report on the results. Since we’re talking about it, let’s get it done. Send someone to see when he will be able to come.”
“Yes, Madam.”
Nadia felt sorry for Wayne, who had just finished a long journey, but there were so many things to get.
It was the moment when she moved, thinking that she should take off a little more brokerage fees.
There was a small commotion among the maids who were following behind her backs.
“Hey, look over there.”
“Oh my…”
It was a quiet whisper, but it was not of the volume that Nadia, who was standing close, could not hear.
“……?”
As she glanced back wondering, the maids were whispering looking out of the railing.
Seen below the railing were empty open spaces used by knights.
It seemed that they were watching the knights sparring.
Nadia’s gaze reflexively chased where the maids looked. Then she saw a familiar face. Her eyes grew round.
“Glenn?”
Clang! Clang!
Beneath the railing, Glenn faced a sword with an unknown knight.
Nadia thought they were making eye contact for a moment, and then he started to attack the other person again.
It was a pretty cool move even to her, who didn’t know much about swordsmanship. She could understand why the maids were distracted.
But looking closely, something was off.
“Oh, my God.”
“As expected, the knights are on another level…”
The young maids were swallowing their saliva with their cheeks slightly red.
From that reaction, what they were seeing wasn’t the sword fight itself, but….
‘They are looking at their body?’
Perhaps because of the hot weather, everyone was loosening their tops. Anyone could see solid muscles through the loose collar.
Glenn also folded his sleeves and loosened his collar.
Regardless of gender, it was a virtue to cover your body closely outside. A lord shouldn’t do that to save the face of the family though.…
‘Is it really hot?’
Nadia glanced up at the sky and tilted her head.
The sun was shining in the cloudless sky.
Great aristocrats, who had been educated to value saving face since they were young, usually covered their bodies up even if it was hot, but there was a situation that cannot be helped.
Nadia was convinced that it must be hard to spar in this weather.
“It’s been a long time since my lord has been sparring using real sword with the knights.”
It was Edward the Administrator who said that. Her head turned to him.
“It’s been a while? Is there any particular reason?”
“Yes, he often used to practice real sword training with his father, but after inheriting the title, the vassals dissuaded him and he had been refrained since.”
“Ah..”
It was understandable that the vassals dissuaded Glenn from sparring with real swords because his predecessor suddenly had such an accident.
Wasn’t it impossible to know what kind of accident would happen if he used a real one?
“But why is he doing it now?”
“Well, I am not sure….”
“Hmm.”
Was it because of the Monster Wave?
Nadia tilted her head and turned again to the outside of the railing.
By then, the sparring between Glenn and the unknown knight was over.
Cleaning his sweat with a handkerchief handed to him by his servant, Glenn looked over the railing. She could see he had his eyes on her.
“Nadia? When did you come here?”
“What?”
A confused voice broke out from her mouth.
‘Our eyes met earlier, right? But why did he act like he just realized my presence..’
