Why Are You Obsessed With Your Fake Wife? - Chapter 73.1
“Your Grace… Are you really ranked third in the household?”
“Yes, that’s right.”
Nathan had a bewildered expression on his face.
“To think that Your Grace is only ranked third! Even if you are the son and the successor, does it mean that Lady has more authority than Viscount?”
“It was obvious but it seems like you still haven’t realized it. Tsk tsk.”
Wayne had long ago seen through the decision-making structure of the household with his keen intuition.
“Don’t you even know who holds the highest power as someone who wants to become a merchant? Anyway, try your best to make a good impression in front of Lady. It won’t harm do you any harm if you do that.”
“But…”
“Just understand what I’m saying and try your best to look good in front of Lady from now on. If it helps you, great; if not, too bad.”
How should I deal with this pathetic disciple? Wayne shook his head and walked away.
The voice of his assistant following him hurriedly could be heard.
“Wait! Let’s go together, My lord!”

In the end, Nadia decided to accept the golden silk from Golden Forest.
She felt sorry for almost running away as if trying to escape when she saw herself refusing it in the end.
But where would she use such extravagant fabric?
As she pondered deeply about it, Glenn’s voice reached her ears.
“What do you think about calling a tailor and making party dresses? Everyday clothes won’t do justice to this splendid silk.”
“Party dresses? Is there really a need for them when we don’t have any parties planned?”
“If my prediction is correct, an invitation will arrive soon from the capital city. The king’s birthday is approaching after all.”
“Oh right…”
Nadia let out a short sigh.
Her father loved to hold grand birthday parties.
She couldn’t tell if he enjoyed the parties or if his mental age was severely low, but one thing was clear.
If an invitation from the royal family arrived, there would be no reason to refuse it.
Using the excuse that she couldn’t leave her territory just a day or two after inheriting her title wouldn’t work anymore.
In the capital city were three people she disliked seeing the most, on top of that.
‘I have to see their faces again.’
Although annoyance seemed to rise already, there was nothing she could do about it.
With a click of her tongue, Nadia instructed her administrators to compare and verify every entry in the account books, receipts, and gold coins meticulously.
After that, there was no reason for her to waste time here any longer. She turned around and said:
“Let’s go.”
“Yes.”
Since Glenn had to oversee knight training as well, he left for the training grounds. Nadia headed towards her office in the annex building where remaining tasks awaited her.
As she made her way towards the annex building, Nadia almost forgot something important and spoke up to a maid as if remembering:
“Oh right, Lisa. Send someone over to the wardrobe room and make an appointment.”
“When should I schedule it?”
“This week… Yes, two days from now should be fine since my schedule is open then. I need to make several outfits while we’re at it.”
She didn’t care much about luxury – more accurately speaking; she didn’t have enough leisure for such things – but maintaining dignity suitable for a noble family of this region required certain measures.
In addition, she needed to order several outfits for Glenn as well.
While adjusting this month’s budget in her mind, Nadia walked on when something caught her attention.
“…..?”
It was none other than the unidentified egg that should be placed in a sunny spot as instructed.
The unidentified egg was found in an empty dragon’s nest.
There was a slight golden hue on the egg placed on the decorative shelf by the window.
Was it just her imagination? Nadia closed and opened her eyes several times to take another look.
“Lisa.”
“Yes, my lady.”
“Doesn’t that… seem to have a slight golden hue?”
“Well? What… Oh my, now that you mention it, it does seem like that.”
“No, was it always like this?”
Depending on the angle, there seemed to be some gold-like shine.
“Did something happen to that egg?”
“No. Other than occasionally wiping off dust so it doesn’t accumulate, nothing has been done to it.”
“Hmm…”
A low groan escaped from Nadia’s mouth.
‘Surely it’s not hatching? An abandoned egg left for so many years is going to hatch now…’
Perhaps there had originally been some gold but she hadn’t noticed before.
Even now, under bright sunlight, didn’t it barely look like real gold and appear smooth when casting shadows?
“But still, just in case, make sure nothing unusual happens and examine it closely.”
“Should I just throw it away?”
“No, well. It’s not that big of a deal.”
Until then, Nadia didn’t think much about it.
It could have been an egg that had been abandoned for decades, and the gold might have gone missing during the maids’ cleaning process.
Because she had piled up work to do, Nadia passed by without thinking deeply.
But…
One day.
Two days.
Three days.
A week.
After enough time had passed for the dress she ordered for the wardrobe to be completed and delivered…
Nadia couldn’t help but admit it.
‘…Could this really be hatching?’
