I Know the Answer to This! (1)

The door was pushed open and the next couple walked into the room.

“We’ll be in your care. Thank you,” one of the newcomers said in a low voice.

This voice sounds a little familiar.

The worker looked up and spared an extra glance in the direction where the voice came from.

She was stunned. 

Xi… Xi… Xi Chengyun?!

And, he’s here to get married?!

Xi Chengyun and Bai Qi were walking side by side. “Anxious?” he asked Bai Qi in a hushed tone.

It was impossible for him to not be anxious. 

Bai Qi was in a daze for a moment.

It seemed like they’d already come this far in just a blink of an eye. All the way from agreeing to Xi Chengyun’s proposal to accepting the bank card from him. 

“I want to eat gum,” Bai Qi said softly.

“Bubblegum.”　

Xi Chengyun nodded in response.

Shang Guang had been following them closely and was standing outside the door. Xi Chengyun held open the door and passed on a few words to Shang Guang. Shang Guang turned around with a perplexed look on his face.

Around half a minute later, Shang Guang came back with a bottle of bubblegum in his hands. 

Xi Chengyun dipped his fingers into the bottle and fished out a piece of gum, passing it over to Bai Qi.

However halfway through, he stopped. Instead, he withdrew his hand and took it to himself to tear open the wrapping. Then, he fed it to Bai Qi.

“Open up,” Xi Chengyun said warmly.

The worker saw this and thought, oh my god!

Bai Qi didn’t hesitate either. He glanced around out of the corner of his eye and noticed that everyone had their eyes on them. Without a blush or a fluttering of heart, he lowered his head and nipped away the bubblegum from Xi Chengyun’s hands. Due to the swiftness of his action, his front teeth accidentally brushed against Xi Chengyun’s fingertips. 

Xi Chengyun curled his fingers, crumpling the wrapping paper in a hand.  

“Is it sweet?” Xi Chengyun asked.

“It’s sweet.” Bai Qi nodded.

It is sweet.

It’s so sweet that we are dying!

A storm swept through the minds of the worker, Shang Guang, and even Xi Chengyun’s assistant. 

Xi Chengyun stripped himself of his coat and then reached out to help Bai Qi unbutton his coat. 

Bai Qi stood there obediently as he allowed him to do the unbuttoning.

A faint blush appeared on the cheeks of the small audience they’d garnered. 

Mr. Xi’s movements were tender and gentleman-like, with some other spice to it, most likely the male hormones that the handsome man was naturally blessed with.

“Is there something wrong with what we’re wearing?” Xi Chengyun asked.

The worker scrambled to shake her head. “There isn’t, there isn’t! Erm, it’s just that, this… gentleman…”

She looked at Bai Qi and said, “Your hair is a little messy.”

The north wind blew at him ferociously when Bai Qi had been standing outside waiting for Shang Guang. He had put on the hood of his down jacket. Thus, it was expected that his hair would be a little messy now that he had taken it off. 

Bai Qi used his might to chew on the bubblegum another two times and was about to reach up to fix his hair.

Xi Chengyun beat Bai Qi to that, his fingers curled as he combed through Bai Qi’s messy hair. Just great. After he had combed Bai Qi’s hair, the boy looked even better than before.

Bai Qi looked up, his eyes sparkling as he said, “Are you done?”

“I’m done,” Xi Chengyun replied.

Bai Qi took out some tissues and properly wrapped the bubblegum which he had just spat out. Then, he threw it into the dustbin and proceeded to say, “I’m done too.”

The act of chewing helped him to destress a lot.

The two of them walked into the photography room side-by-side.

Both of them were loved by the camera. They sat down together and leaned slightly towards one another.

Ka-chack

A perfect shot was captured within the frame. 

It looked so good that the worker was left speechless.

Bai Qi and Xi Chengyun received their marriage certificate at 4 o’clock in the afternoon that day.

When Shang Guang saw the actual thing, his heart drummed against his chest at the highest speed possible. 

He wiped off a cold sweat that had formed despite him being in the cold, stammering as he said, “Then… then I’ll be sending Bai Qi back?”

Xi Chengyun didn’t reply immediately and instead thought for a moment. After that, he said, “There’s no need for that.”　

Bai Qi was still looking over his marriage certificate, flipping it back and forth. The only thing that his parents had locked away and had never let him touch was their marriage certificate. From the way his parents had put it, this was a sacred item. 

“He’ll be coming with me,” Xi Chengyun said.

When Shang Guang heard this, he felt like fainting. His voice shook as he asked, “With… with you?”

What type of togetherness was he talking about?

Was it, to send him back together with him at one go? Or was it… to go to the celebratory feast together with him? 

“We’ll be going directly to the Jing Hotel.” Xi Chengyun made his final order. 　　

The Jing Hotel had quite a well-known restaurant. It was said that a chef of the State Banquet was previously from this restaurant. 

Even when Bai Qi’s family was still rich, they’d never had the chance to dine here.

Of course, today’s opportunity was all thanks to Xi Chengyun. 

‘The mouth that eats the food of others is softened’. You’ve got to be courteous to people who you’ve benefited from.

Thus, Bai Qi turned over and shot Xi Chengyun a smile.

Xi Chengyun was taken aback for a moment.

Bai Qi looked particularly endearing whenever he smiled. His smile was like a beam of light that flooded the sky, dispersing the gloomy clouds and shining through the darkness.
