“Get into the car,” Xi Chengyun said as he opened the car door.

Only then did Bai Qi keep their marriage certificate and got into the car. 

Shang Guang had a dumbfounded look on his face as he got into the car.

He was at the brink of guessing that… What fake marriage, what family circumstances was he even talking about… all those are fake, all those are just excuses!

Bai Qi had a very likable appearance. Maybe Xi-ge had already fallen in love with him a long time ago!

Each more ridiculous, yet similarly enjoyable than the other. His brain was about to shut down.

“You can take a picture of the cover of our marriage certificate and upload it to Weibo,” Xi Chengyun said while they were in the car.

When Shang Guang first heard it, he thought that Xi Chengyun was talking to him.

“Alright, I’ll get to it!” Bai Qi replied.　

Then, Shang Guang realized that, oh, he was talking to Bai Qi. 

In preparation to make their relationship public, Xi Chengyun asked Bai Qi to post something on Weibo right after they got their marriage certificate…seemed to be a very business-like move to Shang Guang.

Xi-ge and Bai Qi truly didn’t know each other before this, and neither was there such a thing as Xi Chengyun falling in love with Bai Qi before this whole incident. It really was a fake marriage, nothing more. 

At this point, Shang Guang couldn’t help but take a peek at Bai Qi’s expression.

Bai Qi didn’t seem dissatisfied or disappointed. He stuck to their official agreement, perfectly accomplishing another day’s KPI on Weibo.

Shang Guang stayed in his whirlpool of imagination throughout the ride until they arrived at their destination. 

After he got out of the car, he took a step forward and couldn’t help but think, Business is business, but there’s really no need for him to bring Bai Qi to this place, right… Doesn’t he know what type of people who’ll be at this dinner? Is Xi-ge not worried that this little kid will end up knowing too much and getting other ideas? 

Bai Qi followed along and got out of the car. An attendant with a bow tie stands in front of the restaurant. “Hmm, do I need to change into formal attire?”

“There’s no need,” Xi Chengyun replied.

Xi Chengyun stopped for a second and asked, “Can we hold hands?”

*Sigh*, no biggie!

Bai Qi raised his hand and hooked it around Xi Chengyun’s arm.

Xi Chengyun’s body was warmer than his.

Bai Qi already had the desire to bury his head in his arms. 

Xi Chengyun froze for a moment before relaxing once again.

The group walked inwards, against the cold wind. “Today’s celebratory dinner is for ‘Becoming a Demon’,” Xi Chengyun said to him in a low voice as they continued walking.

Bai Qi had watched ‘Becoming a Demon’.

Although the movie aired last year, it was still drawing income for the production team to this very day. 

The movie gained numerous awards and obtained distribution rights overseas. It was aired in North America two months ago, garnering a total of 78.71 million USD. It only stopped airing in cinemas last week.

Although it couldn’t be compared to the box office earnings of movies produced locally overseas, it broke the record of the highest grossing Chinese language movie overseas. Additionally, it was way above the 2nd place on that list. 

There was still a lot more the production team could profit from, from movie merch to collaborations.

So accurately speaking, Xi Chengyun didn’t only have a massive fanbase within the country, but also from overseas.

Bai Qi ran through this information in his mind and nodded. 

The attendant at the door was stunned for a moment when he saw them. Then, he opened the door for them and said, “Please, go ahead.”

Bai Qi went in and Xi Chengyun continued to talk to him. “This dinner is slightly more private, there won’t be a lot of people attending. You can stay quiet if you don’t feel comfortable. It doesn’t matter.”

“Mn,” Bai Qi replied.　　

Shang Guang was listening as he followed behind them. He really felt that Xi-ge had thought everything through, and was truly nice to the kid.

“Xi-laoshi!” A voice came from not far off.

Bai Qi looked in the direction where the sound was coming from and saw a young man hurrying over. His hair was combed back and he was dressed in a white suit and a red tie.

The man was full of joy. When he got nearer to them, he was stunned and his eyes landed on Bai Qi.

“Xi-laoshi, this… this is…”

“My name is Bai Qi.” Bai Qi pouted lightly and back to his well-behaved manner. “Nice to meet you.”

“Nice, ah, nice…” the man stuttered.

He gazed back and forth between the two but still wasn’t able to confidently say what their relationship was.

The man, President Liang nodded, quickly taking the lead as he walked in front of them. “We’ve already popped open the wine. They’ve even talked about the movie script twice. We’re really bored… I was even thinking, your event ended so early, so where were you? You’ve…” He paused and continued. “Gone to pick up Young Master Bai?”

“Yes.” Xi Chengyun nodded.

President Liang led them into a small banquet hall.

“We went to get our marriage certificate,” Xi Chengyun said.
