“Of course. To adjust to Xi-laoshi’s schedule, we had to delay the recording of his parts. Now, since you all are here, we can finally start filming that portion.”

The filming took place at the outskirts of Jing City.

Director Zheng had purchased a complex of buildings two years ago and he built them into a city designed for filming. It wasn’t too far by car.

Director Zheng became their driver. He couldn’t help but mutter while he was driving, “In the beginning, I asked Xi-ge to head to the city with you straight away, but he said that there isn’t much good food to eat around that area… But, I think the noodles made by our crew are quite good!”

Without a change in expression, Xi Chengyun slowly and gracefully said, “I bet he’d even say that poop tastes nice.”

*Tao Ma Gan (套马杆) is a traditional song by Wulan Tuoya from 2009 which depicts the life of living in the great outdoors and plains in Central Asia.

After some time, Director Zheng finally gave up.

Bai Qi wanted to laugh, but he knew that it would be impolite to do so, so he held back his laughter to a point where it hurt.

A joyous atmosphere filled the car throughout their journey to the studio city.

Director Zheng’s assistants came out to escort them into the city.

It was a sight to behold. Towering buildings stood before them, and the green mountains covered by fog in the distance made a nice backdrop.

There were extras dressed in traditional clothing walking up and down the street. They worked hard to fit into the current setting under the order of one of the directors.

There was a waiting area that was fenced off with umbrellas and chairs just a few steps ahead.

At one glance, Bai Qi saw a few veteran actors and actresses seated in that waiting area.

Just then, he heard one of the staff saying, “Xi-laoshi is here.”

All of them promptly rose to their feet and greeted him enthusiastically. Subsequently, they turned their curious gazes towards Bai Qi.

“Xi-laoshi, did you bring a family member to visit?” someone asked, curious.

Director Zheng answered before any of them could. “No.”

He called for one of his assistants. “Please bring Li Yu’s clothes over, and escort Mr. Bai to the makeup area after that.”

Everyone looked at each other in confusion, none of them knew what was going on.

Meanwhile, the news of Bai Qi arriving at the filming location spread across the internet.
