He had to admit that the script was indeed very interesting. The female protagonist, Li Die, is someone who had to endure more than an average person could bear and who had her hands covered in blood. It’s interesting to see things from her point of view as she unravels the secrets behind what really happened and figures out the mastermind behind all this. She carries a lot of weight on her shoulders and she also cares for the common people.

The antagonist, Ban Yuren, on the other hand… has quite an interesting name. Ban Yuren started out as a tool to put someone on the throne. However, his gentlemanly demeanor was merely a facade and he was a wicked man to the core. Not only was he an enemy of the heroine, he also ended up killing the emperor. He had no concern over his parents, his brothers in combat, or the ministers in court. He was a disloyal and cunning man who disregarded filial piety.

Him and the heroine are both powerful and strong characters. Their personalities make a stark contrast against each other.

Li Yu…

Was the weakest one out of the entire family.

Bai Qi continued to flip through the abstract.

… The bravest thing this character had done was to stab Ban Yuren in his waist. Plus, later on, when he was held hostage and used to threaten his sister, he killed himself.

Bai Qi rubbed his hands and thought, ‘This is exciting.’

Bai Qi looked up at him.

He was handsome, and instantly, Xi Chengyun felt an even harder tug at his heart. Xi Chengyun gently batted his eyes and slowly placed the cup in the palm of his hands.

No wonder Ban Yuren was pictured to constantly long to “harvest” Li Yu.

Bai Qi took a sip of coffee. “It tastes very milky…”

“Mn, I purposely added a little more milk,” Xi Chengyun replied and stared at him fixedly.

The makeup room fell into pin drop silence.

The makeup artist’s breathing became shallower.

Her ears also became a darker shade of red.

‘Oh, Xi-laoshi and Bai Qi… are a real couple…’

She’s seen a few too many fake couples, so this pairing was refreshing to look at.

“Almost done, just allow me to set your makeup,” she said softly.
