Bai Qi and Xi Chengyun remained in the same position for 3 minutes.

“Are we done yet?” Bai Qi asked in a small voice.

Xi Chengyun shifted his hand from Bai Qi’s back to his waist and helped him to stand up.

“All done,” he replied.

“Why hasn’t Director Zheng said anything yet?” Bai Qi asked, confused.

Xi Chengyun looked past Bai Qi and at Zheng who was somewhere behind him.

“Oh, the megaphone is broken, we’re still fixing it.”

Bai Qi was puzzled. ‘So, the megaphone happened to break at this very moment?’

Xi Chengyun shifted his gaze back to Bai Qi and said, “Are you finding yourself more at ease now?”

At that moment, Bai Qi realized that his entire body was still in a fight-or-flight mode. He reminded himself to relax and realized that he was feeling a lot more at ease than before.

He reminded himself that Xi-laoshi was merely doing his job by teaching him how to pose and how to get used to the cameras…

Bai Qi was just about to lick his lips before he heard Xi Chengyun say, “Do you need a break? Or can we continue?”

“It’s alright, I’ll help Director Zheng fix his megaphone.”

Thus, Xi Chengyun followed Bai Qi as he went to find Director Zheng.

When Director Zheng heard the sound of footsteps approaching, he looked up, smiled, and raised his brows. “Bai Qi, do you know what to do now in front of the camera?”

“Quite,” he replied and paused. “Pardon me, am I affecting the filming progress?”

‘Aw, why would you think so? This young one is the sweetest. Xi Chengyun is one lucky guy, Bai Qi is way above his league,’ Director Zheng thought.

“We’re filming different sections separately, and you’ll only be appearing in a few scenes, so no issues with the progress.” Director Zheng smiled, but the more he thought about it, the more unhappy he became. “Hey, how about you ask your Xi-laoshi to treat me to dinner, then we can call it even?”

Bai Qi turned towards Xi Chengyun and Xi Chengyun had to resist his urge to pat his head. He nodded and said, “Mn.”

Bai Qi turned back to Director Zheng and pointed at the megaphone in his hands. “May I try to fix it? What happened to it?”

Director Zheng couldn’t keep a straight face. “It’s alright, I’ll have them bring me a new one. I accidentally dropped it on the floor.”

However, his assistant had something else to say. “We’ve bought 8 new megaphones this month, and the one you just broke is the last one left.”

Wouldn’t this give Bai Qi an impression that he had a very bad temper?

Director Zheng fondled the megaphone and said, “This thing is just too heavy. We didn’t buy the right one. Plus, it falls right onto the floor with a slight push.”

Xi Chengyun blinked slowly. There was no need to expose him.

Director Zheng passed the megaphone to Bai Qi and said, “You can give it a try, it’s alright if you can’t fix it though.”

Truth to be told, the megaphone was huge.

Bai Qi’s face looked tiny in comparison to it.

Director Zheng looked towards the left and right. He felt as if he was being a bully.

He glanced at Xi Chengyun’s expression and finally felt relieved when he saw that he wasn’t looking at him with disdain.

“Liao-laoshi, could you come here for a minute?” the director asked.

Then, he asked Bai Qi to watch while the female lead and another important male character ran through a scene from the movie.

“Is this live demonstration helpful?” Director Zheng said with a small smile.

He was essentially trying to say that Xi Chengyun didn’t need to teach Bai Qi himself.

Director Zheng gestured towards the area next to him. “Come here, have a seat. Have a look at how the camera pans. Observe how actors follow the camera.”

“One moment, Director Zheng, I’ll bring a chair over,” his assistant said.

Director Zheng was happy, and he instantly stood up. “Have my seat.”

“I’ll explain everything to you. This will be different from Xi-laoshi’s teachings…”

‘Oh, I didn’t expect movie directors to be so friendly and enthusiastic.’ Bai Qi thought as he looked at Director Zheng, perplexed.

Xi Chengyun laid his hand on Bai Qi’s shoulder and encouraged him to sit down. “Sit, there’s no need to be courteous towards Zheng Ming.”

The crew couldn’t help but take an extra glance at them.

The director was usually glued to his chair; they thought that he might someday melt into his chair.

So, they were surprised to see him give up his seat for Xi-laoshi’s wife.

Bai Qi sat in the director’s chair for around 2 hours.

“So? Do you get it now?” Director Zheng asked.

Bai Qi nodded.

He had a famous director on his left and an award-winning actor on his right. He felt like a student who’s getting tuition from a Harvard and an Oxford professor before an exam.

Anyone would and should be able to get it by now.

Director Zheng knocked on the table and said, “Alright, then let’s start filming.”

Bai Qi returned the megaphone to him. “Done.”

Director Zheng looked at Bai Qi in shock. “Huh?”

“Mn, the batteries were loose, that’s all.”

Director Zheng realized that not only did he seem like someone who had a terrible temper, he also didn’t come off as a smart person either.

Just like how Director Zheng had explained, they didn’t appear a lot in the movie, so they couldn’t possibly cause too much of a delay.

After half a day, Bai Qi had already filmed most of his scenes. Thus, after he was done, he sat aside and watched Xi Chengyun as he acted with the female lead.

Bai Qi was admiring Xi-laoshi’s charismatic performance.

He had his entire focus on them.
