Escaping the Archduke of the North's Obsession - Chapter 109.1
“How do you know about the right to wish?” Isabella’s voice trembled when she asked him.
His reaction was too strange just for it to be a mere coincidence.
Duke Kyar murmured in a deep, subdued voice, lowering his head, “It wasn’t just a dream.”
Then, he raised his head to fix his dark gaze on her as if attempting to read her mind.
“Is it me who you can’t forget, Isabella?”
Isabella’s hand shook at the unexpected query.
She couldn’t imagine that a time would come when he would ask her this question.
Isabella clutched her skirts tightly because her hands couldn’t stop shaking.
“Well, how do you—-”
“Ha!” A loud sigh whooshed out of his lungs.
Isabella glanced at his face.
Duke Kyar’s countenance was a mix of happiness and annoyance, yet his eyes remained unreadable.
“As expected, it wasn’t a dream.”
The Archduke mentioned the word ‘dream’ again.
Come to think of it!
Duke Kyar could only talk about his dreams these days.
Perhaps, those dreams had shown him the special moments his memories had lost!
“Then, it was true that I drank the love potion and acted like a madman!”
“Did you see that in your dream? All the time that we spent together in the past?”
Isabella’s blue eyes were now filled with tears.
The Archduke had dreamed of their past moments that she never thought he’d remember.
What the hell happened?
She was too overwhelmed that the Archduke had finally figured out who he was in Isabella’s life.
“Yes. I’ve been dreaming about you every day since I stopped crying as soon as I woke up. I also find it weird that the dream was too vivid as if these crazy things did happen to me! To us! “ Duke Kyar seemed embarrassed as he paced around in confusion. “Why couldn’t I remember what happened between us in the past? I can’t even speak because I’m too speechless.”
He turned to approach her again.
“And another thing. The time in my dream might be the future and not the present. I remembered that Kyle was fourteen years old there. Not thirteen. You were twenty years old and not nineteen. What the hell is going on?”
Where should Isabella begin, and how should she explain it?
To make him understand everything, Isabella also had to talk about his death.
Her heart became numb as she recalled the day she lost him, and she rubbed at her chest to soothe the ache.
Isabella’s lips trembled from the sorrow.
“It’s going to be a long story, Your Highness. Are you ready?”
At her question, Duke Kyar nodded.

After hearing Isabella’s stories, Duke Kyar paced around the room in confusion and shot back. “So you’re saying that the Queen of the Fire Spirits had accidentally signed a contract with you, and a particular chain leading you to another dimension had existed in the Dark Forest? The Demon King, who lives beyond the boundary, believed God had created you as his perfect match, so he dragged you there?”
Now that Isabella had almost explained everything to the Archduke, she still couldn’t reveal that this world was just inside a novel, afraid that the truth would drive him insane.
Why shouldn’t she tell him now when he was already shocked by these revelations?
Maybe, it wouldn’t make a difference because her story was too strange.
Would the Archduke believe her If she told him that she time traveled three years in their past to save him after he lost his life during his battle with the Demon King?
“So, I went past the boundaries to save you and fought with the Demon King in his territory, which cost me my life? And then, you used the Queen of the Fire Spirit’s special watch to turn back the time three years before saving me again?”
Isabella nodded.
Duke Kyar ran his hands through his dark hair, laughing in disbelief.
“This is insane. If someone else had told me this, I would treat them like madmen. Not you, Isabella.”
Duke Kyar gave her a gloomy stare.
“I know it’s hard to believe. I didn’t tell you the truth, Your Highness.”
“It’s not that I don’t trust you telling me the truth because I saw the chain you’re talking about in my dream, Isabella. But do you have a contract with the Queen Spirit of Fire? Were you surrounded by fire spirits all the time?
“Yes. Should I call Queen Ifrit and introduce her to you, or do you want to see Ignis’ original form first?”
“Ignis? That small bird you have in your room all the time?”
“Yes, Ignis is a powerful fire spirit. He was supposed to look like a large phoenix, but he had to adjust his size to live with me and fit into my room. I’m going to bring Ignis here to show you—-”
“That’s all right, Isabella. It’s all right. You don’t have to because I believe everything you say. But never tell anyone you have a contract with the Queen of the Fire Spirits. You will get tired for no reason. I hope this secret wouldn’t get into the emperor’s ears.”
She knew too.
