Xian Sheng was stunned and he confirmed with her again, “The Crown Prince left?”

“Yes. He said that there’s an emergency in the military camp and he might have to return late.”

Xian Sheng thought of something and said, “Lead the way.”

Ru Yi brought a coat to him quickly. Holding some lanterns, the palace maids walked in front while Xian Sheng followed steadily behind.

Zhan Lue had already reached the onsen beforehand and was hiding in a corner secretly. Gao Xuan, who was guarding the window, wiped the sweat on his forehead. He whispered from outside the window, “Crown… Crown Prince, I have something to say…”

“You shouldn’t say it,” interrupted Zhan Lue mercilessly. “When you see her coming, you can leave.”

Ru Yi did not ask why and merely retreated. Xian Sheng sat by the heater and warmed his hands, before walking to the wide onsen.

There were taps at the four corners of the onsen, which could dispense cold and hot water. It was not complicated to use them either. Xian Sheng nudged the tap tentatively and looked on in amazement.

Zhan Lue parted the veils secretly and peered through the opening. He saw Xian Sheng take off his shoes and sit beside the onsen. Xian Sheng dipped his toe into the water to test the temperature—his foot was white and exquisite, as if it was a white jade sculpture.

Why hasn’t Xian Sheng removed her clothes yet?

He frowned. However, when he noticed Xian Sheng suddenly turning his head back, he withdrew his head quickly and his heartbeat quickened.

This is ridiculous, he thought. He had married Xian Sheng as his official wife, but why was he acting like a thief?

He inhaled deeply and peered out again.

Xian Sheng finally started to move. Kicking the flower petals in the water, he pulled the string on his robe away while humming a song softly. It sounded like a tune from Southern Liang.

The song sounded very melodious.

Zhan Lue gripped the curtains and his pupils darkened as he stared at Xian Sheng fixedly.

Even if he was facing away from Zhan Lue, Xian Sheng knew what he could see from his angle. He moved slowly, letting Zhan Lue see the strings on his neck and his waist deliberately.

He hid his own secret well and only showed Zhan Lue what he wanted to see.

His actions were slow and calm. However, Zhan Lue could not hold himself back any more. He pulled the curtains apart and jumped out—

“You…” Xian Sheng grabbed a bucket and splashed water at him. Zhe Lue closed his eyes and the flower petals stuck to his mouth. Xian Sheng exclaimed angrily, “Now that you have confirmed, why aren’t you leaving yet?!”

“Who says that I have confirmed?” Zhan Lue wiped his face and said in a deep voice. “If you let me take a bite and it bleeds, it’s real. If it doesn’t bleed, it must be fake.”

“You…” Xian Sheng’s face flushed and he suddenly felt like he had just sabotaged himself. He glared at Zhan Lue. However, after a while, he suddenly broke into a laugh. “Zhan Lue, your nose is bleeding.”
