After Xian Sheng splashed water onto his face, Zhan Lue wiped his nose instinctively. His desirous eyes moved from Xian Sheng’s body to his hand momentarily—

He was like a hungry wolf who wanted to feast but could not, afraid of hurting Xian Sheng accidentally. Hence, he could only howl menacingly and force him to take the initiative.

Xian Sheng pursed his lips and asked, “I’ll look for you after bathing, okay?”

“Don’t take me as a fool.” Zhan Lue waved his hands and said unhappily, “Come here.”

At that moment, something pierced through the curtains. Instinctively, Zhan Lue turned his head and evaded it, lifting his head up to see a black knife stabbing the pillar at the side. Upon a closer look, Zhan Lue’s expression changed drastically and he dived into the water, causing water to splash everywhere and surprising Xian Sheng. At the same time, three more knives flew towards them. Zhan Lue grabbed his coat and wrapped it around Xian Sheng, hugging him while evading the sneak attacks. He yelled loudly, “Someone, come in!”

A loud ‘Boom!” sounded from the window and Xian Sheng almost slipped in the water. Wrapping Zhan Lue’s coat around himself tightly, he said in a trembling voice, “I think he escaped!”

Someone responded outside, “Your Highness!”

“Chase after him!” Zhan Lue’s expression was dark to the extreme. When he lowered his head to glance at Xian Sheng, he saw that Xian Sheng’s face was flustered and tears were brimming in his eyes.

Zhan Lue wiped the water droplets on Xian Sheng’s face away, coaxing him softly, “Don’t be scared. Go and bathe in your room.”

“Aren’t you chasing after him?

“I won’t leave your side.”

Xian Sheng suddenly recalled that when he said this the previous time, Qin Yi had buried an explosive in the ice and kidnapped him. Could it also be him this time…?

As the onsen was in a mess, Xian Sheng had no choice but to come out from the water. When he turned his head around and discovered Zhan Lue trying to peek into his coat, he quickly strode away. “Why haven’t you come out yet?”

Earlier, Xian Sheng was facing away from him. Now, he was wrapped in a coat. Unable to take another glimpse and afraid that the assassin would return, Zhan Lue got out of the water and said, “I’ll send you back first.”

He lowered his head and looked at the weapon, his expression gloomy.
