The dog was obedient. Even when the man examined the puppies, they didn’t growl.

“Then, please take all of them. Would that be alright?” Juliet wasn’t particularly good at calculations, but judging from the man’s appearance, he seemed to have the means to raise about three dogs. “I have to take them and leave them in the woods today.”

“Why?”

“Because my mother opposes it. It’s not like I was the one raising them. I just gave them food behind the building, but she didn’t like that either.” Still, Juliet didn’t want to take these dogs and puppies to that unfamiliar forest so the conversation continued. She couldn’t deny that she didn’t mind if the man took them away. “To be honest, I didn’t have much motivation in life, but after seeing them, I regained some energy. Ah, it’s not something serious. It’s just a bit boring, you know because it’s the countryside.”

It wasn’t a lie. It all started with the dog’s pitiful state, and as she continued to take care of it, she began to feel a slight sense of loss when it was out of sight.

“Did you regain your motivation?”

“Yes. Well, even if I do, they’ll have to live on their own in the mountains now.” Juliet glanced at the man briefly. It seemed faster to ignore him and pass by than to let him take the dogs. At that moment, Juliet let go of her expectations. “But why did you come to Pruna? Are you here for tourism? Shall I guide you?”

The dogs were her concern, but Juliet made an effort to ignore the present situation. It was depressing to worry about unanswered questions constantly.

However, the man’s response was unexpected. “No, I came here to live.”

“Here? Why?”

“My wife likes this place.”

“You have a wife? I can’t see her, though. It’s hard to believe.”

Juliet wasn’t a girl with ambitions or desires to do something with this man. She just had a curiosity to see more of the man who had appeared before her, who had an otherworldly appearance. Well, calling him an angel was an exaggeration. Anyway, she just had a desire to see more of this man’s beauty.

“If it’s okay, can I take this dog and the puppies with me?”

“What?”

“I want to raise a dog, and it would give my wife some motivation. She hasn’t been feeling well lately and I’m getting worried.”

“Oh.”

Juliet’s face, which had been trying to suppress her expectations, brightened up. She nodded quickly.

“Yes! You should take them for walks frequently. Play with them and you’ll feel energized when you see the cute ones!”

“Okay.”

“I’ll help you move. It would be too much for you to move alone.”

The man looked at the puppies as if Juliet’s excited eyes didn’t exist. The sunlight shone on the man as he held the small dog.

Juliet felt as if her eyes were being dazzled.

Diego Hevid was not directly involved in the matter, but he was keeping an eye on Diego’s whereabouts. However, he couldn’t just focus on Diego, as Yernia’s condition was not good. Yernia seemed normal as usual. However, Cassian noticed that she was making an effort to ‘appear normal’.

“Wow! Puppy?”

Yernia smiled brightly as she picked up the puppy. She was laughing so brightly that he could have been easily deceived, but Cassian knew that she was wandering through a nightmare.

“Suddenly, puppies? And so many…”

“They were abandoned, so I brought them home. Our house is quiet, so I thought it would be nice to raise them.”

“They were abandoned? Who would abandon such cute ones———-”

Yernia, who hadn’t adapted yet, turned to look at the puppies standing quietly at the entrance. Seeing that the mother dog was simply trembling next to her puppies without properly guarding them, her heart ached.

“It’s good that you brought them. But… how long are you going to stay here?”

“Why? Do you want to go back?”

Yernia didn’t answer directly and lowered her head.

“Not really. I’m just curious.”

“If you want, let’s live here forever. You, me, and these puppies.”

“That would be nice, but then who will take care of Father?”

Cassian furrowed his brows and sat down next to Yernia, bending his knees. His long fingers pressed against Yernia’s forehead.

“You worry too much. I’ll take care of Father. So just focus on me.”

Yernia sighed slightly at Cassian’s overprotectiveness. She felt that it had become more pronounced lately.

“Um———-”

“Uh. How long have you been there?”

“I’ve been here since earlier.”

Lost in the cuteness and loveliness of the puppies, Yernia belatedly noticed Juliet approaching. Being treated like air unintentionally, Juliet pouted her lips and spoke. “If it’s alright, can I come see these dogs from time to time? I’ve grown quite fond of them too.”
