“Aren’t you worried, Prime Minister?”

Cytheon approached Heinez and asked him quietly. Then, Heinez just smiled leisurely and nodded his head in response.

“Of course not.”

“Why? No matter how much that seal is gone now—the revelation must have come down like that since there is something that needed to require a companion after all?”

“……Her Majesty’s companion will eventually be chosen by Her Majesty alone.”

“Yes?”

Cytheon looked at Heinez as if he didn’t understand any of it. However, Heinez just laughed softly and walked out of Cainbert’s tomb.

In the distance, he could see the Emperor stepping out with great courage. He heard that she had already been engaging in sparring with the knights at the training ground that reminisced of a real battle, but it seemed like she was straight away going to the training ground yet again.

‘It would soon be the death of those knights and they would be clamoring once again.’

Heinez muttered silently and laughed. Suddenly, he could hear the voice of the former Emperor, Kergel.

< Whether she is Cainbert’s chosen woman or not, it doesn’t matter to me at all. It never mattered since she is my only chosen one. >

“……That’s right. In the end, I don’t even know if that was the true meaning of what Cainbert had wanted for the companion whom he chose to show as the revelation.”

Heinez said to Kergel, who was not present there. After he had priorly abdicated the position of an Emperor to his daughter, Heinez suddenly recalled the former Emperor and his wife who were now traveling all over the whole continent.

“I should be retiring soon as well.”

He had already expressed his intention to resign several times, but each time, he would sigh as he looked back to how he had to return right after being caught by Veronica.

But at the end of that sigh, a smile could be seen.

After all, for a workaholic such as himself, a life without retirement might be happier instead.

“Lord Bashel!”

Just then, Veronica, who was already ahead of her, suddenly turned around and called out to him.

“What are you doing, being so slow? What are you going to do when you’re so weak like that? If you want to unify the continent with me, take care of yourself in advance. I’m going to tell the Palace Doctor to make some restorative medicine, so take it and eat it all the time.”

“……Yes, I will.”

Heinez replied with a smile despite Veronica’s abrupt words.

‘Certainly, I am much happier living like this.’

He muttered to himself while feeling that his old body was energized as he remembered that he still had a lot of work to do left.

Veronica slowed her pace when she saw that Heinez was laughing as he quickened his steps a little more. Then, she glanced around to see the ‘revelation’ inside of Cainbert’s tomb.

The pair of green eyes that was smiling softly came to mind.

“Sheesh. All because I don’t like it.”

She shook her head while trying to brush off the man’s green eyes that kept on getting inside her head. Then, spoke to the knight who was right next to her.

“By the way, how are the new recruits this time? I’ll have to call them soon and see their skills.”

“It’s not good, no, it’s not just good, but a ‘genius’ has finally entered this time.”

“A genius?”

Veronica tilted her head at the knight’s words. Then, the knight answered her question once again.

“Yes, I can’t say anything because I haven’t even seen it with my own eyes…… but some acclaimed that the number of senior knights who have been defeated by that newcomer was already over thirty of them.”

“What a crazy thing. They actually lost to a rookie? These guys must have lacked training.”

Veronica muttered while grinding her teeth. Then, the knight became contemplative as he waved his hand.

“Huh, it’s not because of a lack of training, but they did say that the newcomer is really a genius. I wonder if the rookie has already been given a permanent nickname. They say that he is just like the angel of the battlefield… the green-eyed grim reaper…”

“……what? Green, grim reaper?”

Veronica paused in her tracks. Then, the knight looked at her as if he was asking why.

“Hey, that picture over there……”

“Yes?”

“No. It’s fine.”

The knight was not qualified to enter the tomb, so he could only wait outside the entrance. So, he wouldn’t have seen the man in that ‘revelation’.

Veronica clicked her tongue and scratched her brow. Then, she shook her head and smiled.

‘That’s a bad idea. It’s not like he’s the only one with those green eyes. Besides, a guy who seemed insignificant like that can’t actually be the same person as a genius or something.’

She cleared her mind by thinking so.

She didn’t even imagine herself to be so horrified in facing that newcomer soon.

And, just like her father, she never expected that she would eventually fall in love with her own companion as well.

Thud.

Veronica looked at Cainbert’s tomb once again as it closed with a loud roar. Then, she turned her head to look in front of her and began to move her steps with such great force.

……Amongst all the stories there was, it became about the day when Veronica had finally received her revelation in regard to her own partner.

And that was just one of the many stories to come.
