Little Terrified Bun - Chapter 23
“I have to go tutor a friend tomorrow. Can I come home later?”
“No.” Wei Zhe rejected without hesitation, “What if you encounter some danger? You’re a kid, where are you going to escape to?”
“Just for two hours. I’ll be back before it gets dark, I promise.” After speaking, the child still saw the lingering disapproving look on the teenager’s cold face. He thinks to himself: you forced me to do this, you forced me. Wei Jing abandoned his integrity and entered his cutesy mode. “Big brother, please. I promised the other person already, how can I break my promise as a gentleman? Big brother, big brother, big brother…”
Then this child even kissed the teenager with no shame.
Wei Zhe’s face softened and compromised, “I’ll tell the driver to drive you over. Don’t run around, and listen well. Okay?”
“Big brother is the best.” Wei Jing praised insincerely with his smiling face. He was only one step away from expressing ‘I know you will agree to me’ on his face.
Where did the easily terrified little bun from last lifetime go? Wei Zhe exclaimed to himself again. He felt sadness creeping in as he thought of his suddenly matured younger brother. He was like an eagle that was about to spread its wings and soar to the sky, no longer needing to rely on anyone.
The teenager contemplated nonchalantly as he scanned the room casually, finally fixing his gaze on the small desk.
As a thirteen-year-old teenager whose height was still increasing, he could see the sketch book on the table clearly from the angle where he was standing. Lifting his eyebrows, he reached for the drawing while asking, “You drew this…”
“Ahhh!!!! Give it back!!” The child let out a loud scream like a rabbit whose tail had been stepped on, and extended his hand to reach for the drawing.
“Such a strong reaction…” He didn’t finish the last half of his sentence because he saw the caption at the bottom— big brother and me.
A little mini figure with a pair of beautiful ink-colored eyes had some tears hanging on the corner of his eyes and a reddened nose. Dressed in a light yellow and short sleeved shirt, the little mini figure secretly held onto the serious looking figure next to him. With all his gloomy sentiments fading away, Wei Zhe let out a chuckle and teased, “You drew pretty well. Both the character’s expressions are accurately depicted, not bad.”
“Don’t say it.” Hands on his hips, Wei Jing said in an exaggerated manner, “Hurry up and give it back.”
“No, I’m the one in the drawing. I’m taking this sketch book.” Wei Zhe shook his hands side to side and rubbed the child’s hair, making the perfect hair laying on the forehead rather messy. “You finally gained some vitality. If you need to do anything in the future, just let big brother know. Your job as a kid is to eat, drink, and enjoy life.”
“Big brother, you will misguide me.” Wei Jing first froze for a second, then turned shy after he realized what Wei Zhe meant. He lifted his head and gazed at the familiar, yet strange-looking face which faintly overlapped with the mature big brother from the future. With guilt, he asked to test the water, “What if I became a bad person in the future and bullied you, or if I wanted to take your stuff?”
“Become an easily terrified little cowarded bad person, then.” Wei Zhe mocked. “Do you think you can bully me?”
Wei Jing’s gradually increasing sorrow suddenly all dissipated with his big brother’s proud words. Not only did I bully you, I also took your things and betrayed you last lifetime, he said to himself internally. Were you surprised? Were you shocked?
“Don’t worry, even if you become a little bad person, it’s fine.” Wei Zhe adjusted his facial expression. He raised the corner of his lips and his eyes gleamed with confidence like a regent of the dark. “Because I trust my younger brother and I also trust myself.”
I trust that you won’t become a real bastard, and also trust myself to have the ability to clean up your messes.
