Married To A Savage Duke - Chapter 81.1
She came running, panting, as if she was so worried. The man threw a sneer at Rosaline, who was catching her breath. The princess, who had just made eye contact with Cherryl, looked at him with a puzzled expression. “I called you several times, but you just ignored me and left.”
“What are you talking about? As soon as we got off the carriage, you pointed out that the owner of the flowing blonde hair seemed to be Lady Milos. Wasn’t that a sign for me to greet her on my own?”
“I didn’t mean that you rush over and act rudely to her.”
“If you don’t want to get slapped in front of these spectators, then shut up. Are you all determined to annoy me recklessly today?”
Listening to their conversation, it seemed like they knew each other well. It seemed that those who got off the carriage happened to spot Cherryl passing by since she wasn’t wearing a hood. When Rosaline revealed her identity to him, for some reason, this man decided to imitate a fortuneteller and approached her. Cherryl narrowed her eyes and stared at the villain. Even though she had nothing to do with Rosaline, she felt annoyed by this man’s attitude toward the princess. In just a few words, she could tell how low his character was. In this short moment, the man reached the pinnacle of malice beyond redemption. Rosaline furrowed her eyebrows, looking troubled.
“I’m sorry, Lady Milos. If my brother’s prank went too far, I apologize.” Before Cherryl could say anything, the man bared his fangs and snapped at Rosaline. “Are you mad? Why are you groveling like that to a mere Marquis’s daughter? You. Don’t act like you’re some imperial noble. How entitled!” At his offensive words, Cherryl frowned. She had an impulse to slap the arrogant man who had no sense of manners. Then, she belatedly realized how Rosaline referred to him and froze.
“Brother?” In the Empire, there was only one person whom the princess would call her beloved brother. The man before her was not a mere charlatan or a madman. Cherryl could easily guess who he was. The man removed the hood covering more than half of his face. Without realizing it, Cherryl swallowed her saliva and observed the man reveal his identity.
“!”
As the cover was lifted, the man’s blood-red irises and silvery-blue hair came into view. Upon reading Cherryl’s fluctuating emotions, Phillip smirked at the corner of his mouth.
“Do you have any intention of showing some manners now?”
The man had a filthy personality and was shameless as well. His bold imitation of a fortuneteller made his impudence even thicker. Cherryl wanted to retort, asking how he could first act rudely and then expect respect, but she had to hold her tongue after realizing his true identity. If she judged by appearances, Cade didn’t look so upright either, but this one was truly acting like a trashy bastard. His features, reminiscent of a venomous snake, and the despicable smile appearing on his face gave such an impression. Once again, she had emotions she couldn’t express aloud. Philip seemed satisfied seeing Cherryl subdue herself, and he offered his palm before her.
” You should show some respect to the lineage that will inherit the throne of the Lophern Empire.”
“Show you respect? What do you mean———”
Her eyes trembled as she looked at his palm. So he was the crown prince, Philip Viate@ As she unraveled her original memories, she found some clues about him. Philip had no confrontation with Cade. However, it was a fact that he was the Viate royal family’s enemy, the root of all tragedies. Wasn’t he the one who stood right next to Cade when he got struck by an arrow? In a world where everyone who had a direct hostile relationship with Cade died a tragic death, wasn’t she being complacent? Seeing the man standing right in front of her who might become a threat, Cherryl didn’t know how to react. As the silence prolonged, irritation flashed in Philip’s crimson eyes.
“What’s wrong? Haven’t you learned how to treat nobility? You should act like you’re not some noble-born but just a marquis’s daughter.” Philip shot a displeased glance at Rosaline standing beside him. “Or perhaps, you couldn’t demonstrate the dignity befitting nobility, princess, which is why she probably found me laughable. After all, you were sent to Blkanov Castle and ended up as a fool when you returned.”
“Lady Milos and the Duke were very hospitable to me. Even though I visited them at dawn———-”
“If you don’t want to get slapped, shut up. Women are just too talkative.” Cutting her off, Philip’s gaze went down again and Cherryl clenched her fist once more. She wanted to strike Philip’s throat with all her might.
Philip spoke again, this time with a tone of mercy, “Kneel.”
“What?”
“I said, kneel.”
As if to make sure she didn’t mishear him, Philip extended his palm closer. Taken aback, Rosaline grabbed Philip’s arm, but he pushed her away without even making eye contact.
“Marquis Milos’ beloved daughter should kneel before me and kiss my hand. Show some respect to a royalty who will soon become the Emperor of Lophern.”
