Zhao Mingyu scrutinized her, “Are you… a palace maid?”

Despite asking, she doubted this. Although Ye Mu wore a simple dress, her eyes shined with the light of a princess. She must have a higher status! Zhao Mingyu didn’t hear about Mo Linyuan having a little sister… Who was this girl?

She thought to herself, this adopted daughter seemed to be living a decent life. Not only did she receive the title of a princess, but she was also fairly young. She felt this girl was favored, but simply asked a question to be sure of her inference.

Ye Mu retreated one step, “I heard that someone came to visit the palace. So, I wanted to secretly come by and see who it is.”

Ye Mu’s statement made Zhao Mingyu more certain that Ye Mu was highly favored because she was able to freely walk wherever she wanted in the palace. In the Zhao Country, Zhao Mingyu didn’t have this privilege. Zhao Mingyu mused over this before squatting down to look at Ye Mu, “I’m someone from the Zhao Country. Would you like me to play with you?”

Zhao Mingyu glanced over at ye Mu… It would seem she was favored way more than she had thought.

As the two of them became more familiar with each other. After sharing about some of Zhao Country’s unique customs, Zhao Mingyu suddenly asked,

“Your highness, I have a question I was hoping you can secretly tell me?”

Ye Mu frowned, “Ask away.”

Zhao Mingyu knew nothing about how crafty Ye Mu was, so she asked directly,

“I heard that His Majesty cares deeply and loves only one person for many years… Do you happen to know what kind of outstanding beauty Miss Ye Mu has?”

Ye Mu glanced over at Zhao Mingyu’s bright and good-natured face… compared to her own lovable and tiny meaty face… she felt dejected, “She isn’t very pretty.”

Zhao Mingyu was confused… Not very pretty? Then how did she receive so many years of favoritism?

She bluntly asked her inner thoughts, “What’s so special about her then?”

She frowned and frantically stated, “I want to be able to share more information about His Majesty with our Princess Zhao. Afterall, it is the man she may possibly spend the rest of her life with. Your Highness is also a woman, you should also be able to sympathize…”

As Ye Mu hears this, she muttered under her breath, “She’s fairly mediocre.”

She said this because she realized, although she had helped Mo Linyuan all these years, a big part of it was him and his own hard work. Realizing this, she felt that she was truly useless!
