Everyone around Chu Xiang was of the same age, and they had all experienced being ignored or misunderstood by their parents to some extent. They felt a special empathy for Chu Xiang. The reason why parents dared to punish or compensate their children as they pleased was simply because they treated their children as possessions.

In the case of Chu Xiang, if her parents had been a little more attentive, things wouldn’t have escalated to the current situation. It was not something that could be easily resolved with a simple apology for being too busy. In the end, her parents simply believed that children, no matter what, should obey their decisions and accept their apologies without question.

Many people were giving advice to Chu Xiang, suggesting that she should be more firm and not easily forgive her father. She was popular now, being talented in sports, intelligent, and having a good personality. Who wouldn’t like her? She responded with a smile to those who came to persuade her, expressing her desire to focus on studying, learn about investments, and let things unfold naturally. At present, she neither loved nor hated anyone.

Mr. Chu’s company was particularly busy, and recently the Chu Corporation’s project negotiations seemed to be unusually difficult. Naturally, he didn’t have much time to go to the school and display fatherly love, so he instructed his assistant to order delicious takeout for lunch and dinner.

However, ever since Chu Xiang started learning about investments, she no longer ate steamed buns in the cafeteria. Instead, she, along with Shao Yan, Yu Nan, and three others, had their meals together in a pavilion. So they didn’t touch the food Mr. Chu sent; they ate the food sent by Shao Yan’s family instead. None of them gossiped or mentioned that Mr. Chu sent them food, so no one realized his overflowing paternal love.

Chu Xuan took three days off after moving out of the Chu residence to adjust her mood before returning to school. She behaved with dignity, disappointing those who wanted to see her make a fool of herself. Now she knows she must lay low. While Mr. Chu was considering compensating Chu Xiang, she wouldn’t gain any favor by causing trouble. She could only maintain her relationship with Mrs. Chu, bringing her mother to her side. If that went well, half of the Chu’s assets would be on her side.

The gossip surrounding the Chu family seemed to have ended. For a whole week, Chu Xiang had been diligently studying and even refused to play basketball with others after class, claiming that she wanted to prepare for the mid-term exams and avoid distractions.

Her classmates in the class felt a bit guilty seeing her like this. They treated her poorly in the past, yet she often spoke positively about her classmates and now hesitates to leave, working so hard in her studies. If it were someone else, they might have wished to switch to another class for the mid-term exams.

With this change, Chu Xiang’s days in the class became much better. Everyone who saw her greeted her with a smile, as if she suddenly went from being the most disliked person in the class to the most likable. On the other hand, Chu Xuan became invisible, no longer seen as the campus beauty. Hardly anyone approached her. Everyone harbored strong resentment towards her for lingering in the Chu family and framing Chu Xiang. Even her former lackeys no longer associated with her after being kicked out of the house because of her.

The week passed quickly, and Mr. Chu’s assistant went to collect the test results. However, upon receiving them, the assistant was stunned and immediately informed him, disregarding his ongoing meeting.

Mr. Chu couldn’t believe his eyes as he looked at the photos sent by his assistant. The test report clearly stated that there was no blood relation between Chu Xiang and him and his wife.

He hoped that maybe the previous paternity test report had been mixed up, but when he looked at Chu Xuan’s test report, it was the same. Neither of these girls were his daughters!

Then where was his daughter? Where did she go?

When he found out last time that the child had been switched, he didn’t lose his composure because the child was easily found. He even found the whole situation a bit bothersome and annoying. But this time, after reading the test reports, his face turned pale. He immediately contacted the hospital where the tests were conducted, questioning them, and arranged for someone to bring Chu Xiang and Mrs. Chu while deciding to conduct another round of tests.

He didn’t forget about the Chen family as well. The Chu family was raising the Chen family’s daughter, while the Chen family was raising a child who wasn’t from the Chu family. Which part went wrong? If his daughter wasn’t lost in the hospital, then she must have been lost in the Chen family. Regardless of the scenario, he was starting to panic a bit and desperately hoped to find his daughter as soon as possible.

Chu Xiang learned that the test results were out from the Qiankun Mirror, so she proactively called her father’s assistant during class and asked if he had obtained the report.

The assistant didn’t know how to break the news to her. She was a good girl who had suffered mistreatment in the Chen family and was now revealed to be an orphan with unknown parents. It was truly heartbreaking.

The assistant sighed and decided to send her the photos of the report to see for herself.

When Chu Xiang made the call, nearby classmates overheard and sensed that something was wrong. Some of them gathered around and looked at the photos together with her. As soon as they saw the pictures, everyone was dumbfounded. Yu Nan exclaimed in surprise, “No blood relation? How is that possible? Wasn’t a paternity test conducted?”

Chu Xiang was still in a daze, but her voice brought her back to reality. She looked at her classmates, then back at the photos. Suddenly, her eyes widened, and she said, “I’m really not their child? So, there’s still a possibility that I have parents who love me, right? I knew it! How could my parents not love me? Blood relatives are supposed to be close, I’m not their child!”

Her classmates were still in shock when they saw that Chu Xiang, who should have been crying, was actually smiling. Her words were filled with relief and hope. Yes, she had longed for her parents’ love since she was young. Even though she had lost hope before, today she saw a glimmer of hope again. She had every reason to be happy.

Many people’s initial reaction was that Chu Xiang’s previous words about not wanting the Chu family and relying only on herself turned out to be true. From beginning to end, all she cared about was genuine affection. She had entered this world without being swayed by its allure; she truly did not covet wealth and status.
